So after searching for what folks have done to up grade the audio in their rigs, this is what I went with for a soft top setup.

Headunit: Pioneer 2500bt touch screen double din

Front speakers: stock for now

Sound bar : Phoenix Gold TI65CX6.5 Inch 75W 4 Ohm Coaxial Speaker

Amp: Phoenix Gold TI21600.5 1600 Watt 5 Channel Amplifier

POWER RATING
200 watts x 4 channel / 2 Ohms
125 watts x 4 channel / 4 Ohms
800 Watts x 1 Channel /2 Ohms
500 Watts x 1 Channel / 4 Ohms

Sub: Kicker L7 8"

Custom Sub box -ported

Phoenix Gold was bought by AAMP of America after the Owner and original designer of PG decided he was going to close up shop and retire.

Stinger got word of this and made a deal to build 5,500 sq ft faculty in Phoenix Arizona and keep him on as the lead designer...PG was reborn.

Let me tell you...the new line is right up there with JL or anyone else.

Here are some pictures of the install. This setup is loud and sound like 2 ten inch subs easy.

The sub is running@ 2ohms / 800 watts.

I did lose some space behind the seat but not to bad. I will try to get some pictures with the back seat in.

Also will be testing the performance with the top down this weekend .

With the back window out and doors open there was no noticeable change in sound.

Also, the front speakers with the stock radio sucked...but running them on the aftermarket HU and an amp...I was surprised...they sound pretty damn good.

I had changed out the sound bar prior and with the aftermarket radio even the new Phoenix Gold speakers sucked.

I probably could have kept all stock speakers with the new setup and it would have sounded great. They definitely need more power and cleaner power than what the stock radio provided along with filtering the lows out of them.

Nice build... hope you are happy with the outcome. Get rid of those stock speakers asap and it will be much better. Any total cost on the new parts?
