Swapped the audio control switches around on my steering wheel! Now the volume is on the left and the channel changer is on the right! I could not understand why Jeep put the volume control on the right side, when I can touch (and use) the volume knob on the radio with my right hand on the wheel - it's within 4 inches of the steering wheel. Anyway, pretty easy to do, took me about 30 mins, as I went particularly slow. 6 x T20 screws, 2 Phillips screws, 2 x 10mm bolts and done!

If I can do it, anyone can!

My biggest complaint about the steering wheel audio controls has always been (I had them on my '03 Libby as well, in the exact same configuration) that the middle button on the left scrolls forward through the radio presets instead of the Up/Down buttons. I'd rather the middle button be the "Seek" button.

It's a little bit further away than that.... But to me, it's natural to drive with my left hand and left elbow propped on the window ledge.... Phone calls, talking, and other things require the volume to be turned down quicker and more frequently - channel changed, not so much. Just makes more sense to me for it to be on the left side.. You think not?

Totally agree, all my previous "cars" were always on the left, they were all Hondas/acuras but it seems like it makes since to have the volume on the left, like you stated elbow propped on the window ledge and left hand on the wheel , volume control is right there...always wondered why the engineers put the volume 10" away from the volume knob...
I will be trying this tonight.
