My buddy backed into my rear bumper :(

So my friend backed into my rear bumper and flattened the left part of the cover. Had a couple questions for ya guys. First, what do those bumper covers run price wise?

As far as I know (and correct me if im wrong) the stock jk rear bumper consists of an actual steel bumper that is much shorter than what you see from the exterior & a big plastic bumper cover that extends the bumper appearance to the width of the jeep on both sides right?

Also, if anybody has a rear bumper pic & price they'd like to share that would be great. Im thinking I may just leave it flattened and save some $ for a new one ;)

There are enough people who pull their bumpers in favor of more versatile bumper with better attachment points that there will probably be a used bumper piece in your future. Look around on ebay or craigs list and you should turn up something.

All the same, 2 door and 4 door 07 to currenet. Sahara have a thin metal cover but they are still the same.

I'd look for a take off on craigslist.
I can't give my front bumper away. Even with the fogs and hooks nobody wants it.

Option "B" is take it off, straighten the steel frame with a come along or BF hammer and push the bent plastic back after you've heated it up with a heat gun.
They are pretty soft, down't take much to bend them. My rear bumper is hammered.

Niiiiice! got me!

Ya im def looking to upgrade but these dam rear bumpers go from 450ish to like 1000 or more! Thats INsane for a dam bumper! Some of the mid 400s and low 500s seem nice and reasonably priced.

As far as the stock bumpers ya they are **** :9lame:

But i have a good amount of parts I need to order before saving enough for an aftermkt rear bumper. Id like to make the underside of my jeep indestructable for reasons listed in my other thread (stress cracks destoryer...)

I took mine completely off.. those factory rear bumpers are crappy. You can just about find those "milk jugs" anywhere.. most people will give them to you. I have two taking up space in my garage right now. I wouldn't pay more than 10 bucks for a set.

On a JK I don't know, but I'd imagine it's the same story.. so many surplus.
