My daughter's GF drives this...

First, my daughter is only 16. Her GF is 17. She used to drive a black one, but her parents traded for this one today. I have to give them props for wrapping that much sheetmetal around their "baby".

She just doesn't understand why I won't let her park in the driveway.

Daddy drives a C-6 and F-350 and Mommy drives a Benz. Then My daughter wonders why I won't get her one.

I thought about getting my other daughter to make me a "No Hummer Zone" sign for the front of the garage, but I didn't want to send a mixed message to my wife.

You could modify the sign: "Hummers belong in the bedroom, not the driveway"

I personally think it would be a great first ride for a teenager. Big...sturdy..and slow as christmas. I can see where you wouldn't want it sitting in your driveway though...I am guessing it sits about six or seven inches higher than your jeep. That would embarras the heck out of me too!!

But then the girls might think I am giving them permission when their boyfriends are over. I think I'll leave it the way it is.

Meh....don't get the hate for what people drive. Hummers aren't a whole lot different from Jeeps so I don't get why you guys would hate on them. Hell, the unlimited looks like a min hummer.

YUP, the JKUs can be mistaken for the H3 hummer-I know that for a fact !!

Now after 2 years, almost all CJ/YJ/TJs wave at me in my town in Nevada and I found out that for a long time they thought it was a HUMMER-

Thats OK, I kinda like the H3 ALPHAs-

I didn't get a JKU because it is Hummer-big. Not my style. Of course, the hate on Hummers is that it's always soccer moms and d**ks that drive them who wouldn't dare take them off-road; just an inferiority complex of some kind... but I just judge silently

I never mistook a Wrangler for a Hummer, nor do I see a resemblance.

Exactly. I found the two closest pics I could. Even in a similar color, at a similar angle, and from a similar distance, I think they look about as different as any two vehicles in their "class" could. At most you've got the squared off lines toward the rear of the two, but that's about it.

I don't really dislike the Hummers. I got to drive an H1 in the Philippines. Damn capable vehicle. Never drove an H2 or H3, but I doubt it's as robust as the H1. Besides, the H1 came with a MK119 40mm auto-grenade launcher. Now, THAT'S fun.

I just like to bust on her. When your house becomes a hang-out for underage females, there is only so many subjects you can talk about, without coming across as creepy

I don't know I never got around to liking the 4 door jeeps. I've been around wranglers since I was five so a real jeep to me only has 2 doors. Also where I'm from people who own 4 doors use them as a status symbol. They lift them and put lots of money into beautifying them, then never take them off roading, they just drive around acting like d-bags.

I love this thread....Hammers suck.... total status symbol. H3 maybe if I won one in Vegas, I might not sell it and buy a jeep.

Hey I had a Samurai awhile back, and that was one fun vehicle! I loved that thing. Selling it was the dumbest thing I ever did.

Not to mention the Wrangler is two things a Hummer is not, much better looking, and a JEEP!
