My first Jeep

Just bought my first Jeep today and I am already in love (love at first sight). Can't wait to get out there. Also, I didn't know chicks loved Jeeps so much, first day a cute woman said "I love your vehicle". Too bad she is old enough to be my daughter. Hope to talk to a lot of good folks that can set me on the right path to making my Jeep more bad ass than it already is. Any tips are welcome I'm a total newby.

You and me both, just got my first a week ago, '08 Wrangler X 2 door. I can't find enough things to do to get behind the wheel. I guess that's what happens to us newbies when we've never owned a jeep

Jeep...just empty every pocket. You'll find all sorts of things to do to it on here. My list keeps getting longer. I just bought an 08 JKU myself. Get a photo of yours on here.

IMO posts need pics.

Congrats! First tip: get it naked (see you are in Vegas) then take it out and play with it and get it dirty!

Welcome to the forum.....now...go out & drive that Jeep around for a while & it will become more clear to you what you think you need to do for mods. Mostly (and of course 'arguably') the common mods are more for fashion than function.

Since taste is very individual it's hard to choose for someone else.

My own needs are based on use in a rural life style as a daily driver, where I might be doing anything from yarding out a (small) tree stump, hauling/towing/carrying tools about the estate, to driving a 100 miles into town & back. Road conditions from mud/snow/ice/wet pavement require adaptability, and 4H is often helpful, while 4L is rarely needed in my use.

I'm one who prefers the 18" OEM Sahara rims but did upsize my tires a couple widths.
While headlights/fog lights were essential upgrades on my 08JK, the most useful addition I've made is a Bantam cargo trailer. Your needs may vary.

You got that place out by the airbase that the quad/motorcycle guys run! Check to see if you can run your jeep out there, that would be a pretty fun area.

There's a sticky in this forum called "Cheap JK mods" (or something like that) which I just found last night that you should check out. Lots of really cool innovative mods that you can do!

No need to be so hostile. Maybe they're just bad at making jokes.

Easy Wayne! Easy my friend. I think they were just making a joke.

Enjoy that Jeep. Don't be afraid to ask questions, and understand that some of the guys on here that give you the hardest time are some of the smartest Jeep guys you'll ever meet. They're just having some fun.

Lol! So much truth here! I tend to get a wave return percentage of about 90% in my Flame Red girl Jeep. And found me a man Jeeper I dig that I actually met on a trail run- with a really really big.........................engine lol! Whom I will not incriminate further as he is also a member here. What is not to like about a guy who drives over stuff!

Welcome aboard gang!

How about some pictures of those new rides?

You may look back someday and wish you had a few snapshots for the "before" and "after" thread.
