I recently traded in my 2008 Wrangler Unlimited "X" for a 2011 Wrangler Sahara. While both look the same, the differences in the ride is amazing.
I've had the Sahara for about three days, and it's pretty loaded up. I got the leather, Mopar Chrome packages and the nice stereo with navi.
The first thing I noticed is that it's MUCH smoother and MUCH MUCH quieter than my 2008. I think they made the hard top out of a different material, and there looks to be more carpet. So far I am most impressed with that.
The second thing I am impressed with is that it seems to ride much smoother. I unfortunately went from Stick to an automatic, so that may have something to do with it as well. The ride almost feels like a regular SUV. I know that's a turn off for some Jeep owners, but I drive a TON in my jeep, and I appreciate how smooth and quiet they have made the ride.
The interior is amazingly nice, and the additional storage space is great as well. That was always a complaint for me on my old jeep.
I only have a few complaints. The cup holders suck. They are way too deep, and way too tight on a regular large coffee cup that you may get from any coffee shop.
The Stereo system I got doesnt seem to link up to my Iphone correctly, so I cant utilize some of the features.
The gas mileage is terrible compared to my old Jeep. Hoping that it breaks in and gets better. I used to get about 21 miles per Gallon....I'm not getting about 15. Some of that I'm sure is from driving Automatic now.
Regardless, they did an excellent job with this Jeep and I'm excited to drive it every morning. The differences when compared to the 2008 is really amazing
