My Jeep after 14 months of ownership.....

Picked it up brand new 2012 JKU Sport, April of 2012, had all the fancy options. Auto, Both tops, Infinity sound, Uconnect, Power group, 3.73, ...stuff like that.

During the summer, added the Spiderweb Shade, some decals, the Bestop under seat lock box, swapped out the speakers with the Polks and added a 12" sub in the rear, and plasti-dipped the wheels.

Then my buddy gave me a 2.5" RC spacer lift. I wasnt sure how high I wanted to go, so I'd figure this would give me an idea. Plus it was free

Well, Sept. came and with that, the new wheels and tires. Went with MB72 15x8s and KM2 35's. All from DTD. Also trimmed the fenders after install

Sold the Hardtop and added ACE rails and ACE stubby Stinger bumper. Got cowl lights and brackets from a friend, and decided on doing angry eyes with a touch of LEDS. Also did the grill mesh mod

Bought Bestop trail doors w/ bags from a friend

Some little stuff I also did was add a CB, mounted to the center hoop of the windshield frame, and painted the interior silver pieces DCR to match. Same with the D rings.

After much debating on buying a deck cover, or making one, and going from recommendation from folks here. I made one, after reclining the rear seats a tad

Used 1/2" plywood and carpet roll from AutoZone. I used pink foam board to make a template, since its easier to cut with razor blade on the Jeep. Then I just transferred the shape to the wood. I shaped the front portion to come past the rear seats, doing it like that makes for a nice armrest. I used nuts and bolts to secure it to deck rails. I later swapped out the nuts for "T" handles. Makes it easier to remove if needed and it holds my net in place. This thing serves few purposes... it keeps stuff secure, makes the 12" sub hit hard when no top, and can put light cargo on top.

So thats about it for now. Future plans call for TF 2.5" Spring lift, TF Hinge carrier and maybe a winch.

But as of now... Im 100% pleased with my Jeep. Its more for weekends and nice days, and that being said, still getting mid 17s MPG driving naked.

Aug we will be taking it to yellowstone

Thanks guys

Yes I did add LEDs behind the grill, not much though. It was a 19" strip that got used for the whole front

The deck cover is by far my favorite mod. Just cause its so useful and I made it myself. I also took into consideration the soft top. I can still use the deck over with soft cover completely installed

I like that deck cover. I wonder if you used carriage bolts from the top, with T nuts underneath, would it be more secure? Seems like someone could (with enough time that is) unscrew the T nuts and get into your goodies??

I may have to duplicate that. My tuffy add a trunk is not that big.

Great job..I really like the deck cover. I may do something similar and line-x it to keep it weather proofed. Very nice..keep it up.

I was looking to make my own security deck like yours but was concerned with it killing the sound from my sub. I have twin 12s in the trunk. It's actually making it hit harder totally contained like that? I feel like it would just muffle it too much

Are those oracle led lights or is it something you crafted yourself. Love the looks of them!

I lost a lot of bass when the top was down. I'm running a single 12" in a ported box. But enclosing the deck with a top, turns it basically into a trunk.

And subs hit hard in a car trunk, so you can only imagine.

You won't be disappointed

They are just led strips, total length was 19"

They are actually attached to the chrome ring of the headlamp assembly

Nice love the cargo deck and the use of the pink foam is brilliant. I've been sketching my plans out, but the foam idea is once I'll be borrowing! Great work.

Love that deck and most of the other mods. Not a big fan of the blingy LED setup, but if you like it, that's all that matters.

Yeah man... Makes it so much easier.
Get a rough measurement, cut to get it on the Jeep, them make small adjustments from there, while its on the Jeep

Make sure to leave about 1/4"-3/8 gap around the roll bar and between the 2 pieces. By the time you carpet, it'll be snug.

Also if you wanna use your soft top w it on still, cut the corners further in. If they are flush w the bed rail, when you pull the rear sail panels down and zip in the windows, it will rub and leave an impression on the sail panels.

That is really nice, I love the mods on your jeep. Just a quick question about the doors. Do they rattle a lot when you're driving or going over bumps? I want to get a set and I really like the Bestops more than the other tube doors.

Would you mind taking a couple of close up pictures of the headlights?
