My JK is too quiet - Magnaflow exhaust system? Or??

Hey all - I have a 2009 Wrangler X .. I just got her about 6 months ago in stock condition. It's a V6 .. I've already installed 35" alloy Nitto-Terra Grappler A/T skins, 17" rims as well as a custom bumper with a 1.75" cold rolled steel stinger, matching rock sliders, a 12,000lb 6hp winch, K&N cold air intake, Wet Okole neoprene seat covers, a bikini top, and cargo netting. She's now LOOKING loved, but she still doesn't make an entrance!

I've heard really mixed reviews about going straight pipe. I've been looking into a Magnaflow exhaust system.. What can I do to make my JK sound better? I want that good ol fashioned rumble! As much as I can get with a Jeep anyway. Suggestions?

I have been looking at a lot of different exhaust systems. Probably going with the MBRP system. I don't want it for a loud exhaust, but more looking at it because it seems to be the highest tucked system.

Got the MBRP system. Didn't have the clearance I wanted, so I am exchanging it for the Magna Flow system.

I like my AFE high tuck muffler. A week ago, after installing it, I was a little 'eh' about the sound but now its grown on me. I like it. And above all I can tell people that its meant for function, not sound, since it tucks the muffler up away from the ground.

Did you get the axle forward MBRP model? Also I have a local shop that swears by MBRP, now I myself have not run it but have heard it and it sounds great.

This.

You can also get just the bullet in the kit then have a shop or yourself install a pipe from that whichever way you want. Or have it dump under your cab.

I don't see how you could get anymore clearance. Also it has a nice rumble but could be a little deeper.

along with my other post, you would be surprised as to how much rumble a K&N Cold Air Intake adds to the engine noise. Admittedly it really only ads rumble when accelerating but it does add some.

I just had a little exhaust work done. I had him remove the resonator and install a stainless magnaflow model number 11225 in the factory muffler location. It's not too loud but I hate to admit it, it sounds a little ricey. Not sure what I'm going to end up doing.

I have the Magnaflow Off-road tip down 17143 and totally love the sound. It has a deep sound and it makes that sound when you're slowing down bla bla bla bla !!! I had the pipe cut by 2 inches because it was too long since 4wheelparts added a spacer when I had the lift put on. They cut it for me and installed it myself. I would highly recommend this exhaust. I'll try to do a sound clip today.

I second the aFe Power Mach Force XP Hi-Tuck 2.5" Cat-Back Exhaust.

However, for the OP, I have a 2013 with the 3.6L. Do not have any experience with the 3.8 engine.

Wow I just installed mine! The chicks won't stop checking me out! Greatest invention ever!!!!!

On another note....... I've heard that dual exhaust sounds bad on a v6 unlike a v8. I've never heard a side by side comparison or single vs dual with the same exhaust. Anyone have any insight?
I have the 3.6.

I hate all these after market noise makers that get installed on vehicles. I own a country store and we live above the store. In the warmer months we can't leave our doors and windows open during business hours because of all the modified exhausts that pull into our lot. I don't get the need for noise. TV, stereo, conversations and play with my granddaughter all get disrupted by this racket.

I also hate the rolling boom boxes for the same reason. I can't wait to sell this place.

Rumble with a V6 Pentastar? It isn't going to happen.

Yeah, I was worried about adding an aftermarket muffler. I busted the stock one wheeling. Thats why I went with the aFe, I tried to find one that was reasonably quiet. The high tuck clearance was also desirable to me.

I believe you have the 17144 because the 17143 is the 4 door JK. Can you confirm what you have?
