Nice Jeep and welcome to the club. I have na 07 X with the hard top and have had no issues such as leaks, etc. I have scratched the heck out of them over time. In the Summer I take the hard top off and run a bikini, Tonneau and windjammer. Would like to get a Trektop NX down the road.

Good for you, nice jeep. Good luck with the "red dragon". (Yes I just named your jeep).

Red Dragon.... I'll have to think about that one! The color fits me well though (see the fire plate?)

I also want the trektop. This came witha hardtop, but I talked them into switching it for a soft-top for free. She has 38,3xx on it. I just gotta get used to the gearing ya know?

What exactly do you mean? She's stock so nothing special. As far as how is it to me?
Feels good, gotta just get used to it. I am used to driving 80's chevys with 3 forward gears, now I have 6 lol.

Other than just being new to the jeep and how she drives, I like it.
I am thinking about lowering the tire pressure a bit, seems a little "stiff" when I hit bumps.
Gonna probably take the back seats out. They are folded down right now to fit all my fire gear and medical stuff.

Do you know where I can find a center console? I've been looking online, the only ones they have are tuffy locking ones (out of my budget this month). The center console I have now only has two cupholders, and a few open spots for pens/cell phone. It does not have a compartment. Storage space, and lack of compartments are my only problem as of now.

I meant how is it different to you versus your previous manual transmission experience

You answered the question though..you have to shift more often!

If you plan to off road you can buy the front tow hooks and add them yourself to your front bumper. I did that and it was cheap and easy

The few mods I have planned for the next month are a tuffy security deck (bye bye back seats), skid plates, and painting of skid plates and diff covers.

What color goes with red? hmmm...

I hear you brother! I think it's the 3.21 gearing that causes me to stall it sometimes. My Previous YJ didn't need a gas pedal, just let the clutch out. In my JK, I have to feather the gas to get the rpm's higher to take off smoothly. Clerk out the gas pedal spring removal mod on here, it makes the pedal a lot lighter which feels better to me.

I'll check that out! I'm fine getting into 1st (little slow though), 1st-2nd.. I kinda buck but it's getting ALOT better as my days progress.
I learned on old 70's and 80's that had 3 forward gears lol.

I'm on vacation with no computer, and I don't know how or if I can link threads from my iphone. Search for a thread title "pushing that gas pedal" look on page 2 and follow cryppe's step by step directions. It's a PITA to contort yourself into position to remove the pedal assembly, but worth it in my opinion.

I love that color, it's a very iconic red & it works well on a Wrangler.
