My new 2011 Wrangler Sport

So I have had my new 2011 wrangler sport for about 10 days now. First Jeep and I love it!!

I was going to pull the trigger on a Sahara, but found a good deal on a Sport which was pretty much loaded (paid 4% below invoice). I think I prefer the fenders on the Sport anyhow - lower maintenance than the body colored ones.

I have not taken this off-road. I want to let the new car smell go before I do that. Right now I am using this as a daily driver. The ride is smooth and with the hard top it is very quiet. My first tank of gas averaged about 18 mpg. Overall I love the drive and everything about this Jeep. The only small negative I have is with access to the rear seat - kind of difficult and poorly designed mechanism. Not such a big deal, as I rarely have passengers.

I have just completed my first mods -
1. I had a JVC KW-NT3HDT installed. It is great, has Nav, Bluetooth, HD radio, DVD etc. I reason I choose this is because it has a removable face, which is a good security feature. I ordered it from Crutchfield for about $850 shipped with all the harnesses and connectors. Which makes it about $550 cheaper than the factory Nav and Bluetooth.
2. I installed a Mopar front bumper/ skid plate and Superwinch LP8500.
3. Added locking gas cap cover.
4. Removed stickers from the side.

I am not planning to do a lift or change wheels/ tires right now. I think my next mods will be the Superchips when the 2011 software is released and may be some windshield mounted aux lights. I was thinking of installing a CAI. But after reading all of the threads on here, decided that it is not worth it.

Nice. I've been thinking about a new head unit. I have the infinity sound in my 11 so it will cause issues. I know how to do it(MECP certified) I just don't want to tear into it just yet. Looks good bro!

I got infinity sound too. If you order from Crutchfield they give you everything you need, you just need a special harness.

I really lick your front bumper. Did you change the rear also?

How did you get the 4% deal? 4% below invoice seems like a VERY good deal

Very nice! I love the bumper and the head unit looks great. Sounds like you definitely got a good deal. I just got a '10. The dealers by me still had 10's on the lot so they were discounting them more than the 11's. I really like the interior on the 11's.

New car smell wont' be affected by mud on the outside.

I just shopped around online. As I am in Los Angeles I have about 15 Jeep dealers within 30 miles of me. I just emailed various dealers to give me the best price on a certain vehicle and used those offers as leverage. I think this particular one was sat in their yard for a while and they wanted to move it. I took the invoice pricing from Edmunds so not sure if that is 100% accurate. With my options it worked out about 3.% lower than invoice, 7+% below MSRP.

The guy who installed it for me said that there isn't one available right now because it is a new 2011 vehicle. He told me for sure there should be one in about 2-3 months. They can just switch it out then.

Thanks for all the positive feedback from everyone. This is the Mopar front offroad bumper with fog lights. I picked this because it is the same as they used on the showcase Black Ops Jeep at the various auto shows. I saw it at the L.A. auto show and really liked it. I haven't changed the rear. I may do in the future, but don't see the need to spend $500+ on that.

I think the showcase Black Ops...

Was featured with the AEV Premium bumper

AEV Front Premium Bumper Skid Plate and Winch Mount - Quadratec

The MOPAR is very nice too and for 1/2 the price!
