My soft top is leaking

I just bought a used 08 4 door sahara 3 weeks ago and after last nights heavy rain I had a pool in my jeep. Every door, but the drivers door was leaking and I had so much water inside that when I pulled the carpets out water was running off of them like a faucet. I even had water running down the front pillar going behind the dash and my front pass side seat was soaked. I called the jeep dealership by my house since it is still under the factory warranty and when I told them it was a soft top they told me "well it is a soft top". So so does this mean that all new soft top jeeps leak because my older jeeps never leaked. Then they told me to bring it in and they would adjust the soft top and the door trims. I asked if the warranty would cover a new carpet because I don't want it smelling like mildew and they said it is indoor outdoor carpet just let it air dry and the seats are made of special material. Does this sound like good customer service and has anyone else had problems with their soft top leaking?

Thanks
Joe

That's the "canned" response that some dealers give...frustrating as hell...see the "LEAKY SOFT TOP" manual in the above post that Chrysler has developed to perform a "trial and error" type of "fix" which may take months/years of going back to them...then all of a sudden "oh...you're out of warranty!"
Been there done that got the t-shirt...

Ahh yes...the good ole leaky soft top. Mine has not leaked YET but I understand it is only a matter of time. I have prepared myself by telling myself that I will not care nor give one hoot about water in my Jeep. Suddenly all my concerns are washed away

Hope you can get it fixed the way you want though

are leaks a result of poor QA, improper design or "user error"?

you'd think that they'd have issues resolved since the wrangler was introduced in 1986.

So I took my jeep to a dealership by my house and they told me that the top is leaking because some of the frames are bent front taking it down and putting it back up the wrong way. They also told me that there are some small holes in the fabric. Then I was told that I needed a new top and that Chrysler would not cover the top. I called the dealership that I got the jeep from and they told me I had to bring to them for their people to look at it and then go from there. I can't believe a top is not part of a MD state inspection and that I could get an 08 from a big time dealership with a messed up top.
