My very first post with a question?

Just purchased a 2009 Surf Blue Wrangler Unlimited and couldn't be happier. Of course I have a few questions. The Jeep is outfitted with 32" BFGoodrich tires and 17"x5" aluminium wheels. Jeep sits pretty nice now but I am wondering if I could add a Skyjacker 2" Budget Boost and still use the tires I have? Would it still look good or would it be too much of a gap. Don't want to change tires and wheels right now but want a nice aggressive look. Any problems I would run into with this addition? Thanks for everyone's help and opinions.

Welcome to the forum. I'll leave your question to the JK owners.

Yes. You do not need bigger tires just because you have a small lift.

That's a fashion thing. But fashion advice from me? I wear black socks with my crocs.

No. A 2" boost really doesn't add any complications. You can get some creaking noises since the poly bushings can be louder. It will have some theoretical impacts on your steering and handling, but I doubt you'll notice at all.

The biggest impact a BB usually has is that it's a "gateway drug" for adding stuff to your Jeep. You'll discover fairly soon that it's just not enough, and you'll be sneaking off to the guest bathroom with a copy of Quadratec's catalog. You'll be selling stuff from your garage on craigslist to raise the funds for a real lift. All in search of that perfect high. Which is usually about 6" or so. But maybe not. Maybe you'll be one of those people that can go little, get just a bit of a lift, and then leave it alone.

Man, I think I have already been bitten by the accesory bug. I never imagined there were so many ways to customize my new baby. I can't wait to get started. Thanks for the info.

Funny I must admit. Truth is they are low cut under armour socks. I coach alot of youth baseball and they look good with my black under armour shoes. As for the baggy shorts, there not that baggy I am just extra short.

The dealership told me it was new for the 09's. I thought about it but stayed with silver when I bought mine. I guess I'm predictable lol

Anybody heard of any complaints with the Skyjacker BB with hydro shocks? Thinking about taking the plunge real soon.

Buy some good socks, uh I mean shocks. RS9000 or some nice Bill Steins. Cheap socks can ruin a ride real quick.

Welcome Aboard, Shipmate!

That's one mighty sharp lookin' vessel ya got there, mate! Surf Blue, Aye! Tis a color that makes a Sailor yearn for the Sea!

Your tires look pretty functional on/off road. What series and size BFG are they?

Thanks!

Cheers!

BB
