Also just drive with the doors and all window pieces off the softtop its just similar and you wont get skin cancer.
Its not a runaround its called a backorder. Either order it yourself, figure out another fix or wait. Complaining wont help you.
The sunrider cannot be utilized because both of these joints are broken on either side. Furthermore, it is a bear to secure the top when trying to put it back up due to the joints not being intact to give the full 90 degree flex when they're working properly. They are very flimsy and this is the second time it has happened. The dealership also advised me that this is something they've seen a lot of in this vehicle in terms of damage/service.
I do already take the doors off and windows but I'm worried that being complacent and not keeping on the stealership about this will eventually turn into one of those "oh, I had every intention of getting that fixed..5 years ago" kind of things.
I'm not looking for a pity party - as noted originally in my first post, I'm trying to see if this is commonplace or if I should raise any red flags for concern in terms of getting this fixed in a timely manner - or if I should be ready to wait until next Winter to have this part on my rig.
And for what it's worth, when you pay $30,000 for a Jeep, I think you reserve the right to "moan" a little bit. Thanks for the advice though.
