Nav radio questions

I have a 2008 4 door wrangler x unlimited, I would really like to replace the stock radio with a oem nav radio. Can it be done and if so what do I need?

yes, but i suggest aftermarket. I worked for jeep and had many people say they dont like them. plus from what i remember they were about $1200.

I'm happy with mine. It does have a few quirks but I have had several independent GPSs over the years and experienced some issues no mater which one I owned. The jeep nav is no different. The hard drive feature is a bit clunky in terms of its operation. The controls could have been designed better. I'm hoping that they come out with an upgrade with improved controls. After all, the controls are just programming as it is basically a computer with touch screen on it. One nice part is that the nav GPS compared to an independent one sitting on the dash is not an attractive nuisance on the dash that someone will just reach in and grab for a quick buck on the five finger discount market.

At first I didn't think I was interested in the Nav option but after having it and it having alot of the forrest service roads on it I wouldn't want one without it.
