Nav system voice?

Is there any way to turn off the voice on the nav system? I've tried looking in the manual (in case anyone decides to get snarky) and either it's not there, or I'm not looking in the right place. I really dislike how it cuts out the radio when it's giving me directions.

Thanks!

I have the 730N in my 09JK and I haven't figured out a way to turn it off so far.

I'm curious about this as well. I'd love to be able to change the voice to Darth Vader, or something comical...anyone?

I'm at work and can't look now but I "thought" it was under setup or settings! Might be wrong though!

You should be able to reduce/eliminate the volume by turning down the volume control WHEN the NAV is talking. I do this regularly with my 730.

I have a 2012 JKU, I don't know if the nav versions are different between the models but in mine:

From the Nav screen (where you see the "Where To" and "Show Map"):

Settings > Navigation > Voice Prompts > Off

Yeah, sorry about that. Didn't think about the radio being cut out.

What radio do you have? Getting to the NAV settings is a bit different for my 730N RHR than what Proxy404 described. Just in case you have the RHR model, here is where you should be able to turn off the guidance prompts:

a. Do whatever necessary to display normal map on the screen.

b. Press the black MENU button located on the far right side of the radio.

c. Press NAV Settings on the touch screen.

d. Press Guidance Prompts on the touch screen.

e. Unselect Play Audible Guidance Prompts on the touch screen.

HTHs.
