Navtool - Please be wary before buying

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to provide everyone with a forewarning if you ever wanted to purchase a Navtool product.

I placed my order for my Navtool so I could hook up my backup camera on 5-20-17. The order arrived at my door in California on 5-26-17. Not too shabby for coming across the country!

I took the front dash off the jeep and took the unit out and got ready to install the product. I then opened the box and noticed that one of the main hiring harnesses that relays the video wire for the backup camera came unattached.

I contacted the customer support to alert them of the concern and they requested photographs of the damaged product which I provided on 5-26-17. On 5-27-17 they said they would replace the wiring harness so the backup camera would work. They told me that day when they ship it they would provide me a tracking number for the replacement part.

On 5-30-17 I tried to get confirmation that the part was sent and received no reply. On 5-31-17, they said it was "processed" but would not provide further information.

On 6-1-17 and 6-2-17 I tried to get in contact again without success. On 6-3-17 they told me that it was shipped but have since stopped responding to me and refuse to provide me s tracking number for the replacement part.

I have tried to call the business multiple times and each time despite being within business hours I never get through to a person. We have contacted the sales team trying to get a hold of someone and all they say is that it's shipped but refuse to provide a tracking number or any further information.

At this point, it's been 11 days and I have still not received the part. At this point, I don't think I will ever receive it. My jeep has been sitting apart for this entire time hoping the part gets here so I can just solve the problem and put it back together.

I doubt I'll get my money back and I doubt I'll get my replacement part. The product I bought doesn't work and there has been no follow up with the company. I waited some time to write this post hoping they are just slow but too much time has now passed.

Please do not use Navtool and support a company that can't follow up on the products they sell. I now have to go and find another company and spend more money to get my backup camera working. I guess I should have just paid for the flash at this rate.

I've read bad things about Navtool and I can tell people about my own personal expensive and terrible dealings with Lockpick. :puke:

I have a Nav-TV module in my DD car. It works well, their CS support was great the few times I had to contact them and I wouldn't hesitate to do business with them again.

That's what I use. Loving it, though I had to replace the first one.

I was going to go with Navtool. But at the time I was ready to buy they had a 20 minute "The Customer Is Always Wrong" video posted to every page of the website. All about how they never ship a faulty product and any customer who claims they did is lying and broke it themselves. Turned me off them enough to go with PAC.

I guess they got the message, though. That video has now been deleted from their YouTube.

I was on the fence between Navtool and the PAC, but I saw an earlier past from you about the video. Since I couldn't find it, I went searching for reviews. Found a review site where they bashed every person who left them any kind of criticizing review and most reviews were for customer service. That was enough for me.

I ended up buying the PAC today after another day of not receiving the product. Loss of $200 unfortunately but would rather get my product working instead of a broken one forever.

My experience may not be the norm. But I wish I had more information to read on before I purchased which is why I made the post.

That sucks man. Is it too late to get your credit card company involved.?

The navtool shill has been polluting this product's info here on this site for at least 4 years. It annoys me as a paying supporting member but, I'd be more than perturbed if I was a sponsor paying to advertise my product or company.

If you paid with a credit card call them and file a dispute on the charge (you essentially didn't get what you paid for). You've got a fairly long window for charge disputes on defective/not as described items. If you paid with Paypal, do the same thing. If you sent cash in an envelope, well, :whacky:

PAC vs navtool

Order PAC from ebay, first one didn't work. They sent me replacement turn out to connect front camera you have to buy another PAC piece. Ordered the piece front camera didn't work anyway. Send it all back. Got Navtool, btw you see American quality of navtool right away , installed and it worked as described. Tech support was extremely helpful to make it work on my manual Jk

rolf .. how many accounts do you have here?[/QUOTE]

when i first saw this is i thought WTF, then i went back and looked at the earlier posts and two accounts joined around the same time i did. i am not affiliated with them. i am trying to assume that your comment is caused by ignorance and not arrogance. i am not pimping any product and made a comment in regards to my recent purchases that were made before this thread was started. the only reason i know about navtool is because i read about here from other members. my cameras arrived today and the navtool hopefully will soon. if it is a bad product i will post about it.

so update:

Despite Navtool telling me they sent a replacement part many weeks ago I got an email a few days after my Paypal dispute showing that they "shipped my order." So it appears they are not very truthful first off. Secondly, Paypal confirmed with me today that I need to return the item to Navtool and then they will refund my money.

So just waiting for whatever they shipped me to get here and then I will send it all back and be done with this nightmare. For reference, my PAC tool works great and zero problems!
