need advice on new price.

hello. i've been lurking around for awhile and am finally serious about getting a new jeep. a local dealer gave me a price on a new sahara and i wanted to get some advice on the price, first new vehicle purchase for me so i am definately no expert.

2010 2dr sahara 4x4, track shift(?)
3.8 v6 auto, 3:73 rear limited slip, tow group
AC
freeedom top, remote start
black
P255/70 R18 owl on/off road tires.

price before tax etc $26,617.00

any opinions on whether the price is good bad or ugly? any advice on what some of the members on the forum would pay for a similar jeep.

thanks for any help

I'M IN FLA. AND WHAT YOU JUST SAID ON THE sahara IS ABOUT $3,000 MORE THAN WHAT THEY ASK FOR HERE. I BOUGHT A SPORT FOR 18,600 AND OTHER THAN THE TIRE SIZE AND RADIO UP GRADE IT IS THE SAME JEEP!

I just picked up practically the same Jeep you just described, minus the tow group and rear slip but with side airbags......

Keep in mind the AC and the P255/70R18 owl on/off road tires come standard with the Sahara

I got it for 26,400

The differences between the Sport and Sahara are more than just the tire size and stereo/speakers....
They are all pretty much 'creature comforts' but....is it worth it? That's up to you!!

IN FLA. A/C COMES STRD ON ALL THEIR MODLES. FOR US IT IS WELL NEEDED! BUT WITH THAT SAID YES THE Sahara DOES COME WITH MORE 'creature comforts'. I WANTED SOMING I WOULD HAVE SOME MONEY LEFT OVER TO CHANGE THAT THE Sahara DIDN'T COME WITH.

If you join www.treadlightly.com (it cost $25.00) You get 1% under invoice on all new Jeeps + any other rebates/incentives they have. I just got an email about it last week. It's a new partnership they have with Chrysler. Find out what invoice is on the Jeep you are looking at, keep in mind that invoice price is not what it cost the dealer.

You can order a New Car Price Report from Consumer Reports.
It's a good guide to give you an idea of what dealers pay for the vehicle, hold backs included, you then add your options, subtract incentives and you have a price to start negotiating at.

I bought a report and would be happy to email it to anyone who would like to see it.

I forgot to add the link:

https://ec.consumerreports.org/ec/aps/order.htm

But as I said, I'd be happy to email anyone a report who wants one. Leave me a PM here on the board with your email address

That's what you'll get with TreadLightly.

I paid 1% below invoice plus $75 minus the incentive at the time minus $750 "loyalty or competing vehicle rebate". I was $23,500 out the door for a 2008 2-door Sahara with auto, Freedom Top, Sirius/Infinity, power group (options in '08).

That's great....How did you find out about that site?
I never once came across anything like that site when doing research online.

The site is down and under construction at the moment....

I didn't; Infernogirl gave you that info. She's hot and smart.

I work for a Chrysler vendor and get the discount that way.

I think you're special too.

And if the dude buys the Jeep with that discount, I say he goes to your house and washes your Jeep. Wax too.

Sorry Wrangler0 I just found out about it and joined a few weeks ago, myself. And afaik the pricing thing is a brand new (in the last 2weeks) thing. Join up and save some $ on tires and help the offroad community at the same time.

And teasip, my shop vac awaits!

Thank you ma'am. I just returned from test driving a Rubicon and unfortunately it just wasn't the same experience that I remembered while over in Hawaii this past summer .
