Im looking at all this on my iPhone so its kinda hard to tell definitively. Yep seen that color and it looks way cool. When it comes to 4 wheels I try not to take it too serious. Color is good.

Just forwarded him this info along with the link about the "Tread Lightly" program. Let's see what he does.

Yeh, it's really a win-win for both of you. Plus, the kickback usually comes into the dealership as "Additions to Income" so the dealership is not paying a sales commision on it either.

Anyhow, that's the dealership's business. Be sure to keep us all posted.

Gollllleeeee. Sometimes I wish I was not a triple Type A personality. When I see a problem, all I focus on is jumping in and solving it. Someone I used to work with once told me that I have about as much patience as an Ex-Lax overdose at three o'clock in the morning.

"Honey, I just ate the last bag of popcorn so I'm going to run down to the store for more. Need anything?"

OK, did the GM call you back yet? Did you try to call him? What's up?

I'll join Tread Lightly, looks like an interesting circle of peeps. At least I'll feel like I'm getting something for my money.

That's ok, my company bought 7 Camaros from cross street rival dealer 2 years ago. We will be replacing them within 2 years. If this was his audition for that gig then I guess epic fail. They sell Mustangs and Chally's (which I like too-not a hard liner)

I'll gladly continue to deal with the Chevy dealership because they seem to get it. Their service has been amazing.

Oh well I'll go back over to the Gecko waiting room and eat some more popcorn.

So, is he going to give you the Chrysler Affiliate price for being a member of Tread Lightly?

I just bought my Jeep and that Chrysler Affiliate discount isn't all that great. I got the price lower than that discount. So don't think you are getting the best deal with that. Keep pushing for a better deal.

When he came back with the "discount" I looked at it with shock like I thought it would be a lot less (which I thought it would have been). I said I didn't want to pay that much. So he came back a little lower. I told him I wanted to go home and think about it. That is what got them moving. They lowered the price a little more, gave me a better price for my trade in, free car starter and 4 years free maintenance.

Two things I will always do when buying a car...always go to at least two dealerships and always go home. The next day I didn't call them right away. I got 3 messages and one saying they would give me more for my trade.

Gaaaaaaah now you tell me. Ha ha Sounds good. I'll try to graft some of that into what I've already got going on. I've already put a deposit down so my leverage at this point is pretty impotent at this juncture..

Hey. Make sure she sees a Gecko Green in person. My local dealer took delivery on one this past weekend. It look nothing like the picture to me. Way brighter. Hold on. Let me capitalize that... WAY BRIGHTER! Just offering that up, if you haven't seen one in person.
Enjoy the new Jeep!

We've seen it. My wife absolutely flipped out when she saw it. I was hoping it would closer match the green stripes on my Camaro. I found my enthusiasm to be a little muted but seeing my wife flip out made my day so I'm good with it. Yes it is bright.

Well my first "mods" are here. I know I know, not super impressive but at least the weather techs are very practical.

We'll see how the grill works out. It's seems the plastic will easily be scratched. Should I prime it and paint it myself?

Now all I need is the Jeep to put them onto/into. Dealer called today and said my Jeep should be here on Memorial Day and hopefully I can puck it up on Tuesday.

Congratulations! It's almost there. As far as the grille goes, it looks black already, but I am looking at it on my iPhone. Anyway, I would diy with Plasti-Dip. Using P-D will allow you to literally peel it off if you do not like it. There are lots of good things said about P-D on this forum and other sites around the web.

Don't forget pics. I think poser shots are ok for at least the first few weeks after you bring ________ home. Gotta name yet?

+1 on the plasti-dip. Low cost way to see if you really like the blacked out grill.. if you don't like it.. just peel it off.. AND you've protected it in the meantime.

just an comment on the 0% financing for 3 years. If you take the cash, invest it at a MINIMUM of 1%.. $35,000 at 1% interest is $1,060 in interest (compounded)... That is new wheels that Chrysler just gave you!

We don't have a name yet. Geck??? The Gecko?? I call my Camaro "Cami". She is spoiled rotten. SW LT's, HFC's, ARK cat back, CAI CAI, trifecta tune, insulator, ported TB and IM, Pfadt sways-end links, rear arm package, diff bushings, BMR rear cradle full bushing kit, Hurst STS and in a few weeks, Vortech SC.

It'll be a couple of years before Geck sees the equivalent being as its going to be my wife's dd for a while.

I had to really massage her on the Rubicon package. She loves the way the Sport and Sahara ride. "The Rubicon will last longer and be a better tow vehicle"

I will definitely look into plasti dip. And yes the grill is already black. The finish reminds of a SOLO plastic plate or cup. I like the option of having the original unmolested.

The Weathertech rear cargo tray should be here any day.

We'll prolly get the mesh Bimini top. Any suggestions? Also who makes the best top caddy/storage system? Looking for a garage system where you can back Jeep in remove top and it stays suspended in the air out of the way while not in use..

X2. The only reason I hold on to mine is because it holds sentimental value. Other than that, they're just about impossible to work on and any time there's an issue I can't fix, it's AT LEAST a $500 trip to the shop.

BTW, when it runs, it's a shitload of fun...so it isn't fun very often.

The reason it is hard to see mine is because they are the exact body color of the rest of my Wrangler. You might recognize them better on your Camaro. They are the bright green things that go from the grille to the bottom of the windshield. Other vehicles may have them on different parts of the vehicle also. Some even carry the motif through the interior.

Perhaps the confusion comes from using the vernacular term "strips." I believe most folks refer to those things as "stripes", as in racing stripes. They are akin to decals and make the vehicle go faster. I have even heard them called raisin strips by some folks.

Just having some fun. Btw, did you drive over to the dealership to see if your Camaro's new garage mate had arrived. Bet you can hardly wait for Tuesday to come. Best to keep busy, like ordering more mods from the new Quadratec catalogue.

Harken. They are the same folks that make some of the running gear on the America's Cup Racing sailboats. As the saying goes, if it's good enough for Dennis Connor, it's good enough for me.
