Unhappy Need control arm bracket!? Anyone know where I can get one????

I need a front drivers side control arm bracket specifically (all brackets are probably the same) my front drivers tire grabbed a tree and bent it out pretty badly, but it looks like the only thing that bent was the control arm bracket, and I can't find that part anywhere...any ideas?

Has anyone done this before? Do you think its possible I bent axle housing or anything else as well as the bracket? Thanks for your help in advance.

If you go to a 4x4 shop, they can probably cut it off and weld a new one on.

I have a 2008 unlimited Rubicon, the lower control arm brackets for 2007+ models aren't sold anywhere as far as I can find, it bent pretty badly so my mechanic doesn't think welding is an option, maybe I bent/messed up more than just the bracket???? Know anywhere I can maybe get a used bracket like a junkyard or something? Idk I'm stumped, seems only option is buying entire front axle assembly and ouch! Don't wanna do that....anyone had this problem?

Pics would be nice so we get a clearer idea of what it looks like and what you need.

Why'd someone post the RE parts for a TJ?

After you do get it fixed make sure you weld on some LCA skids to prevent it from happening again.

Idk about that post either...but I can't get pics until next tues cuz of work, its the bracket that's attached to axle that mounts the control arm that's bent pretty badly

Is it possible for your shop to detach the control arm, then heat the bracket with a torch and while very hot bend the flanges of the bracket back to their original position(assuming what I'm envisioning as the damage is correct)?

Otherwise, I'd guess you need to find a wrecked jeep and have a guy with a torch remove it from the axle and then put it on your jeep. Might consider bringing it to a local 4x4 shop to have the work done since something like this should be up their alley.

It takes a decent amount of force and tires 35" and larger to bend the axle housing. Just take a straight edge along your axle to see if it's bent.

The polys are more then likly to be your best bet just have to get them welded on

I was with you until you said 35's or larger bends axle

It's a known problem with D30 and 35" tires. That's why numerous companies offer c-gusset and axle sleeve kits.

They offer those same kits for a dana 44 also

So are you saying the Dana 30 has the problem and the Dana 44 doesn't

The Jeep OEM D30 has the most problems with the OEM D44 having less. There are people that have bent D44 as well due to having thin axle tube walls. Aftermarket D44 use thicker tube walls to help prevent bending.

Really???? It is a fact. Allways has been an issue with evey vehicle when wheeled.
Simple physics.

Well mall crawlers can get away without bending stuff.

Yes you can bend a axle when wheeling or even mall crawling when you hit a curb

Does having bigger wheels have anything to do with it , no

He said big wheels bends axle in a post above , there is more then to bending a a axle then just putting big wheels on

You are right wheel size has nothing to do with it but TIRE size does. All the extra weight and leverage puts huge amounts of extra stress one the axle. Does going from a 245 to a 285 mean you are in danger, no. But when someone says big tires I tend to think of something in the 37 to 40 inch range.
