Need help

I have an 07 unlimited and noticed my carpet was very wet the other day ... Haven't lifted it up or checked a thing out yet... What could it be ? Would lining it with linex or something ? And what would the set back be? And time ?

Just do a search for leaking top (either hard top or soft top). Tons of posts out there.

The top is leaking somewhere. If you search the JK section for posts with the word "leak," "leaking," "wet," or "damp" in the title you'll get tons of threads.

You can of course start looking over the weatherseals to see if there's anything obviously out of place. Also take a look at the JK leak manual (here).

Rather than bothering with any of that, Here's what I did in response to damp passenger carpeting until I linex the whole thing in the future. There are plenty of links in there to others with similar issues, and pics from a guy who had his interior linexed for $700 after he did all the prep work.

if you have a soft top and there is a lot of dew in the morning, that could be the issue. there might be a tiny leak somewhere...I would leave the top open and drive that around.

Top.....

I have an 07 JK soft top Sahara and have had no issues, however I have buddies with the same year and model that have seen the same. For them it has been towards the front where the soft top locks in to the top of the windshield on each side. I would buy a cover if it is not ur everyday machine or look at bests top replacement.

Hope it works out for you.
