Need help, after removing/ replacing pitman arm the jeep doesn't turn all the way

Here is the deal, I recently removed the drop pitman from my jeep and I've noticed that since re-installing the stock pitman arm it doesn't seem to want to turn all the way to the passenger side. Any ideas? Could I have possibly put the pitman arm in the wrong groves?

Haven't done a pitman on a JK yet, but yes wrong groove is possible, or the steering box's secor shaft wasn't centered when installed.

I always make sure the wheels are straight and the steering box is centered before attaching pitman. (so if steering wheel goes left lock 4 turns to the right, go two turns (so it's in the center of it's travel) and install pitman).

Pitman arms normally have a blind spot in the splines to prevent you from installing them incorrectly.

that would be my guess a lot of adjustment with the dropped pitman not needed to center the original, and I agree most pitman's I have replaced only go on one spot, not familiar with the JK as of yet though.

The jk pitman arms have 4 large groves at 12,3,6 and 9 o'clock. In between the large grooves are smaller grooves. I'm thinking that I may not have brought it back to center before sliding the pitman arm back on. I'm going to pull it tomorrow and see what happened.

4 grooves, just like on my HMMWV, if you're off one groove (90 degrees), it'll cause just what you say it did.
