Need ideas

Rut Roh! Dang mod bug bit again and I got the MBRP light bar as well as some KC Rally 800 Lights to mount to it. All said, $450 to my door. Can't wait to get it on!

A few questions:

Any good rationale (excuses!) for the Mrs. other than it'll help light up the road better/safer? She's gonna be pissed I spent $.

I understand that the A Pillar switch mount by Rugged Ridge is supposed to match the interior color now (black, not gray) right? Thinking of going this route if I add more later. Any other switch panel suggestions? I have a manual so the switch plate that goes down by the shift won't clear that area (automatics only).

My first time wiring up lights. Any words of wisdom before I get started?

I don't have advice for the mrs. for you, but I do know that I got an email from quadratec last night saying the A-Pillar switches by rugged ridge are on extended back order through them, so don't purchase from there unless you want to wait a while. and yes, it's black interior matching. it will be my first time trying to wire. It was suggested to me to run the wires with a hanger. hope that helps.

link to the switches I bought: Rugged Ridge 17235.58 - Rugged Ridge A-Pillar Switch Pod for 11-12 Jeep® Wrangler & Wrangler Unlimited JK - Quadratec

I use the sPOD switch system. Expensive (which won't help you with the Mrs.), but worth it IMO. Neat, professional and done right. And makes powering accessories a breeze.

The wiring is pretty simple...a couple of overall suggestions: Solder all connections and heat shrink. Also take your time running the wires and zip tie thouroughly. I can tell you i used the rubber grommet above the mastercylinder to get through the firewall...Good luck. Show some completed pics when you finish, i am thinking about that light bar as well.

Okay, what you need to do with the Mrs., is bring her along when you're hanging out with other Jeepers who have Jeeps much more built than yours. She'll see how cool the built up Jeeps look, and start saying things like "you should buy one of those".

Or on the other hand she could just forbid you from hanging out with other Jeepers.

I certainly wouldn't tell her that they are illegal for on road use. Be careful with those. I'm not saying dont use them(other members might tho), but don't use them when others are around

There are several write-ups out there regarding windshield lights. Here is a pretty good one with pics.
