need some switches... S-POD?

Hey everyone,

Im looking to get the compressor installed, and I dont want to drill the switch into my dash.

After some searching I came across the S-pod and wanted to know the feelings out there.

Love them? Hate them? any issues i should expect?

PM forum member DJStorm100. He actually makes S-Pod type kits. Top shelf stuff, cheaper than an S-Pod, and he can custom make them to your specs should you desire. He can link you to a bunch of threads and the like showing pics etc. I've been eyeballing his stuff for awhile.

Engineered to the T. Expensive but well worth it. I love mine with the ARB connector.

I went with RF controlled accessories. Cost was significantly less than the sPOD and I can control the accessories from outside the Jeep.

Did a write up here.

Thats cool. How about accessories? (the switches are going to push me into new mods)

and I thought I was almost done.

Any other cool accessories to link the switches to?

Love my Spod. They control my front Baja design LED light on bumper hoop, ARB air compressor, LED L/R side lights, two Rigid LED diffused back-up lights on AEV bumper/mast, rearview back up camera and KC 150 watt windshield pillar lights.

The sPod is very nice! But, I think it is a bit on the overkill side if you are only planning on adding a couple of accessories. Anything more than 4 or so, then I would definitely go sPod or Black Box.

But, anything less than that and I would recommend going with something like the Rugged Ridge pillar pod.

Or do what I plan to do and just drill the stock pillar and install your own switches. I know you said that you didn't want to drill into your dash, but this little pillar piece is separate from the dash and wouldn't cost much to replace, should you choose to keep your accessories whenever you get rid of the Jeep.

These are the switches I plan to go with, except in black.

Just installed one of his boxes this weekend. Excellent product. It is a series of relays that you install that addes 5 circuits for accessory power. But it does not come with switches so you would still need to figure out where to put those in your jeep. He is really helpful and can probably work something out for you. He sells switches but not a self contained switch unit like the s-pod.
