JCR is one of the newer WF vendors. PM them and see if they can do anything for you in regard to shipping...

I'm with Dan. The JCR dagger rocks.

I have a say in everything she does, in return, I let her have a say in everything I do Gotta work together, otherwise why be together in the first place?

As for the bumper, I think I'm gonna go with the Crusader instead. The dagger is really nice but the crusader looks like a more bad@ss version of it. Now all I need to find is a way to get it coated (either black, or something similar). Would the whole spraypainting thing work on it? I don't remember the name, but many use it.

Well to me if it is your vehicle and your money then you should be able to do what you want. I am married, with a child and my wife doesn’t have any say in what I do with my Jeep, she doesn’t attempt to either. She knows it’s my toy. Other things in regards to our family, of course, it is compromise and mutual decisions. But it is your life and no knock on you, just different ways of thinking.

As for the bumper, I like both the JCR’s you posted. One is recessed winch mount and the other top mount. The dagger has a better approach angle due to its slimmer design, contributed by the top mount winch, but it is strictly personal preference at that point. My Rugged Ridge XHD is wider too since the winch is recessed.

You can find a powder coater and have it powder coated but If it were me I would use Rustoleum truck bed coating/liner in the spray can.

Umm, recessed and top? What's that? That's the first time I hear about this!

Means the winch is either slightly or all recessed inside the front bumper. On top just means it's mounted on top of the bumper, so it sticks up more

Which one would be more practical to have? I'm assuming the recessed one? So I should go with the dagger?

I don't think it matters too much, the non-recessed bumpers I think are higher so you have a better angles in the front for off-roading. The bumper I just bought is an on top mount

If you are going with a stubby bumper I believe the only time approach angle is going to be a problem is if you are going head on into a wall.

My neighbor is selling a brand new Smitty XRC8 for 300 bones. 100ft synthetic, alluminum polished fairlead, remote, cover, to winchplates. He has a TJ so the plates might not work. I'll take bumper off tomorrow & see if it fits. I learned that these are made in China, that sux.

Would you guys get it? Any bad experiences with these Smitty's?

Thanks

So I am going to be a smart a$$ and ask how many times one has to go off road before he needs a good winch. Seems to me that all it might be is once. Just remember that the more money we spend on mods, the further we have to walk!
