I love my 2010 2Dr but every time I pass a 4Dr I second guess myself on my purchase and not waiting till a good 4Dr deal. Whate are my options? I bought it on 11/21/12 with 12.5 miles. It now currently has 16k miles. I bought it on a 5 year plan with a 3 year warranty. What are my options as far as trading in to a 4Dr without really loosing any money. I want to be really happy with my vehicle considering I will have it for 8-10 years and am devoting 5 years of my life to paying it off. I can downgrade a year and go up like 5-7k miles, but i don't want it to really cost me anything if that is possible. Or if I need to spend what are my options without spending above 5k.
Yeah, if you trade it in you won't even get a reach around.
Even then, you're still going to get bent over, especially if you owe more than you can sell it for.
Best bet is to accelerate payments and stick it out for a year or two. Once you owe less than it's worth you can think about selling it without getting bent over.
Do your research on KBB and see what kind of price you can get on a new one. You may be surprised with the low interest rates these days and great resale of the Wrangler how well you can do. I drove a '12 2 door for 27000 miles and traded it in a year later for 10% less than I paid for it, and got USAA pricing on a new 4 door with a 1% interest rate for 60 months.
Evaluate every conceivable angle and make a decision. One great thing about Wranglers is you really don't get "stuck" in them nearly as badly as with some other vehicles because of the resale.
I would go to as many Jeep dealers as I could and see who will give you the highest trade in on it. Then decide after that if you want to trade it in or sell it privately. And definitely check out www.kbb.com
I'm a dealer and at most places if you bought an extended warranty you can cancel and get a pro-rated refund which in turn brings your amount owed down. Jeeps hold their value very well so you should be ok to trade.
Lot of room there. What are you paying now what was the price when you bought it, what options does it have? You can compare what's out there New Cars, Used Cars - Find Cars at AutoTrader.com using the advanced search and any distance e.g.
2010 2 Door Sport $22,000 13,105 miles
2010 Unlimited Sport $21,995 23,695 miles
For another 5K money you might even get into something newer.
It cost 21 plus the 3 year bumper to bumper 3 year 36k warranty, tax, title and all that brought it too about 26. I pay just under 300 a month. It has power windows, locks, keyless, infinity system, 6speed 3.21 gear. I pretty much want to find a way to swap the car the my loan is for without increasing my monthly to anything more then 325. or paying more then 3-5k at the time of the switch.
There is a lot of room to play with, with year, mileage and some cash input. For sure something can be done the way you want to do it. Not even sure how you should commence action. Main thing is don't rush anything until you research and triple check everything before signing. Maybe start off in casual mode contact some dealers say you got this vehicle, you want to trade it in for that vehicle and the max you prepared to pay OTD is 300/month. And see what the responses are like. Take it from there.
