this carier actually does attach to the tailgate for one handed operation. the reason i ask is i read in another thread that it will work but I want to verify before i buy. i like this carrier because it centers the tire and already has the attachment points for rotopax and hilift. it attaches to the frame rather than the bumper so it appears it may work. the only thing that would need to be modified would be the water tank, thats not a big deal to me.
just wondering is anyone can verify if they have done it or have seen it done.
I know this is replying to an old post but I was curious if you ever did do this Smittybuilt rear carrier with the AEV bumper. I have the exact same question and I believe it should work.
All that matters is A the width of the pivot as it drops through the water carrier/pod on the right side and B that there is no difference in the way it mounts to the frame. Look at page 8 and read bout how the spindle carrier mounts to the frame. I imagine they are similar.
Thank you for the help. This is great information.
