Hello all,

I'm thinking of making a sticky for model year differences and I need your help in listing what has changed over the years....especially the specific details and any links.

For instance,

*Not all 2007's have fog lights.
*The oil filter changed between 2013 and 2014
*Obviouslly the engine and tranny changed in 2012 (along with the fold and tumble seat in the 2 doors).
*Interior in 2011 and 2013
*I just saw a thread about the door connector harness changing after 2012.
*TPMS sensor frequency change in 2013
*Mid 2013's came with pre-cut pinch seams.
*Dual horns in 2013.
*Different floormats in 2014

That kind of stuff, but I can't get to all the details of those changes right now....so any help would be appreciated.

Maybe we format it in a way where we start with the 2007 and show each change per model year from there?

Thanks!

You can erase the question mark after the TPMS sensor...the TPMS sensor did change frequency on the 2013 models....apparently from 315 MHz to 433 Mhz. I ended up re-using the sensors on the new wheels and just replaced the valve stems...but ran into the frequency change when thinking about replacing the sensors too.

2014 has the clear markers that aren't on previous years.

Premium soft top 2013+
Spring lift assist on soft top 2013+

Bigger soft top windows 2011+ -?

Inside footman loop for top latches changed 2010 -?

anyone know anything about differences between 2012 & 2013 JKU rear seats? Quadratec flagged an order I had for seat covers for my '13; the order I had only covered models 2011-2012. Quadratec rep stated that their may be subtle differences in seat latch handles, split seat, head rests, etc...

My 07 X 2 door had no tow hooks (front or rear), no fog lights, no TPMS and no storage box in the center console (it's just flat with 2 cupholders).

I don't know if you want to get into seats as well, but mine are vinyl not cloth which I REALLY like. Easy to clean and water doesn't absorb.

Thanks....yup, that is the type of detail I'm looking for.

I started searching for Wrangler's hard in 2011, so I'm not all that familiar with the small year to year changes prior to that.

Was it just a model issue where tow hooks and fog lights were either optional or not available on the X?

Yup, as did the Sahara wheels.

If I remember correctly, 2011 might have been the only year where Sahara's had red shocks. I don't know if they were the Rubi shocks, but I know that some of them had red shocks.

2011 was the interior refresh as well as slight changes to the windshield and interior engine compartment to make ready for the 3.6. The rear chubby added the insert as well.

Thanks!

I didn't know the front windhsield changed for the 3.6.

I do remember the rear window getting bigger for both the hard top and soft top for 2011.
I think 2011 is also when painted tops were first offered along with saddle interior.

Prior to 2011 there was a Khaki hard top available which looked almost green-ish gray to me.

I seem to recall that my 2012 JKR did not have the cup holder lights that my 2013 JKUR does. I could be wrong about that, it could be a difference between the JK vs. JKU, or it could be a model year issue.

No matter, I am confident you will agree that getting this information out to all Jeepers is CRITICAL to possible purchase decisions that they may make, and I appreciate your earnest endeavors to correctly resolve the pressing question of the cup holder lights in an expeditious fashion.

LOL.....
LED lighting started with the 2013's in the cup holder and under the dash.

Another one.....2013 10A's and all 2014's started getting the enhanced EVIC.

Were 3.73's even an option 2007's? (( don't think so, but I'm not sure).

I thought manuals were 3.21's or 4.10's.

If anything they made it thinner. There are a lot of posts of new JKs going through several replacement windshields... but that's conjecture.

As soon as I'm able I'll upload a photo of my 07 window sticker. Might help a bit.
