Needs help asap! Extended coverage!

Got a call from jeep devices and they want to extend my warranty to a 6 year 100,000 mile warranty. I got the guy to come down to a $295 down payment and he's working it out to see how many months I will pay for about 100$/month. This is a full warranty not just power train with a 100$ deductible.

Is it worth it? Anyone have any experience with this?

If you're going with a warranty the Chrysler Maxcare Plus warranty is unlimited miles, unlimited years, with a $100 deductible.

Maximum Care Plus Plan

It saved my bacon a few times with my Patriot. There are vendors on this site who sell it, or there are seval Chrysler dealerships that will sell you one even if you bought the Jeep somewhere else.

Do a "warranty" thread title search, and you'll see tons of reviews and pricing.

Would you know a rough estimate for how much the warranty costs?

Based on this thread:

Maxcare Lifetime Warranty-Make sense?

Around $2k. I think that was what I paid in 2013, and the dealership owner is a personal friend. Some will offer same as cash financing, or roll it into the financing for the Wrangler.

ClayR was the forum member who sells them.

The catches: $100 deductible. The free roadside/towing/rental only goes up to 100,00 miles, and eventually you will reach a "break" point. Example: If a whole new engine is needed that costs $4k, and your blue book value (or maybe black book) value is below that. In that case, they give you the car's value and call it a day.

Oh, and you HAVE to get an inspection at the dealership every 5 years.

For my Patriot, (I think I paid $1200), it's probably saved me $5k or more. Replaced transmission, bearings, accelaration module, and others. It's $100 a pop.

No inspection every five years, that was for the promo lifetime warranties that were handed out around 2008-09
You are correct on the cut loss aspect of the warranty, but they go by NADA book value, a good deal in my viewpoint.

Good points, thanks. My Patriot (now my son's) is an 09. That part must have stuck in my head.
