Net doors??

As anyone found or fabricated a soft net style door setup for JKU? I'm thinking the net type they use as windows for nascar and such... The gf won't ride in the jeep without doors. And to beat you to it, no I won't get rid of her...or the desire to run my new jeep doorless. Help!!

body armor has some good looking tube doors that have a net style to them. there are also many type of tube doors. you could always get the netting you want and add it to them

man you gotta get your priorities in life straight..... Jeep>Girlfriend everytime. and jeep can always help get a replacement lol

my girl was same way at first but she came around when i left her no choice. now she cant wait to strip down the new jeep and ride

Luckily my wife enjoys the top/doors off thing too. Tube doors I see useful if laws require something but they almost kill the whole idea of running it stripped.

Does she just want something that makes her feel like she won't fall out? What about a wide nylon strap from top hinge to the latch. Semi-fixed at the hinge side and a carabiner at the latch.

Then you're not buying a pair of tube doors when you only want something for the one side.

Yeah just something to make her feel secure. I agree really don't want tube doors, kinda defeats the object of running "doorless"?!? I kinda like the strap idea but not sure it'll be enough on its own.

Could triangulate to the latch. One leg to upper hinge (on top to keep it higher), one to lower.

I thought this was what I needed, but it requires tube doors. I'm thinking more of a frameless net with simple ### style webbing. Think "spider shade cargo cage" style design but with two pins to slip in the hinge points(or remove pin and slide over hinge mount mirrors) and a latch to hook into factory door latch loop...

With what you are wanting i would think there will be a lot of flapping and would be hard to keep them secure over time. It needs some kind of tube suppot to keep in in place and pulled tight.

Yeah, go with a tube door, otherwise you can just punch some holes in a trash bag and hook it to something. :P

IDK Joe.... i think it wold be a hassle having just a netting and no door to it. i understand you feel the doors aren't necessary but netting alone might be a PITA to open and close and what not.

body armor tube doors are probably your best bet. if not wait til you can find some OEM half doors.

Open would be easy w/ a carabiner at the latch. Just unhook and hang in the footwell.

Tell her that is what the seatbelt is for. Ask her how many times she has been pushed against the door when she normally rides with you. unless you drive crazy she isn't going to go anywhere. I understand her concern but it just isn't warranted. Take her around the block a few times. She'll be fine.

My girlfriend gets worried when I'm running doorless and take the dog out riding and have it in the front seat.

So I might pick this up.

He can design his own (since he is making it) using the hinges and catch as anchors or if it was me I would run a rod through both hinges as an attachment point. And make a release for the catch so she wouldn't have to climb out. But he just wanted straps and it's a good tutorial for that.
