Netflix On 430N

Just finished my weekend DIY. Wanted to get some "Extra features" on my 430N. Purchased a mygig unit a few months ago, and upgraded to the new Iphone 5. (Damn Lightning cable). Wanted to share the install and show some picts. Very happy, i'm able to watch videos Netflix etc while waiting in the car.

Finished Product

Installed Converter behind the Glove Box

Purchased a HDMI To RCA Convertor
(Make sure you add the USB Power to the unit otherwise it won't work)

Fished a HDMI Cable under the carpet, to the glove box. (easy access to iphone.)

Had to purchase the Iphone to HDMI Converter.

All in all took me about 2 hours to finish the install. Hardest part was to get the power for the HDMI Converter, and get the cables behind the unit to plug in. Hope that helps someone.

OK....so what do I need to put in my Monoprice/Newegg/Amazon shopping cart to make this happen? I'll be using a my EVO 3D with Ice Cream.

I'm also looking at lockpick....how will that play into this?

You need the lockpick for the RCA Inputs on the VES for the deck.
after purchasing that.
1. depends on the output of your phone, if you can get an output for RCA cables you don't need to purchase anything else. If it only has HDMI you will need the other converters.

Clean install. I've had this done to my Durango, but its much easier with the 4s because the video out is not blocked like it is on the 5.

However, all that said, I would rather spend the money towards a LTE mini ipad and connect via Bluetooth. I'm not going to be using my LTE that often to stream Netflix while waiting in the jeep. It's cool to have but not very practical.

You could always play your downloads on the mini iPad and hear audio through the speakers.
