Never do this...

How many times have we all gotten into a project and did something, well... not so smart?

Today for example I was removing body bolts in order to install some rock sliders. The bolt was spinning but it was stuck in the body cushion so I (with out a lot of thought) grabbed the captured washer and pulled down.
This caused the impact I was using to push into the palm of my hand, and push the switch into the "tighten direction". Those bolt can make a lot of "squeeze" in a hurry when using an impact at 120 psi!
So there I am- effectively screwed to my JK with 3 of my fingers smashed against the body mount. I am now part of the Jeep. After the bright lights went away, I switched directions and separated myself from the jeep and then finished the install after some doctoring.
While admiring the rocksliders I realized how deep this "Jeep thing" really is- It was totally worth it I hope I live through the bumper install to come...

If I had a dollar for every time I scraped a knuckle or lost a chunk of skin, I could retire. LOL

Also never use one of these.

I was working on my Mustang a couple of years ago, and one of those got me 13 stitches. 10 in my left middle finger and 3 in the index finger. My middle finger still feels weird when the weather changes.

Whenever your loosening anything that requires a lot of force or cutting anything, its always smart to take a second and look around the area your loosening and figure out what your going to hit if it loosens quickly or snaps off. I learned this valuable lesson when I was taking off a rusted exhaust header bolt and my knuckles went straight into the aluminum heat shield that was razor thing. Needless to say I always pay attention now.

Which pix? The Jeep mod or the finger mod?

Just kidding. Glad your fingers are okay.

I always figured it wasn't a project until I bled on it.

I absolutely love the Mechanix type gloves.
