New 2012 Rubicon and First Mods

Hey everyone,

So this is my first post here on the forums. I've been lurking a while and thank you all for making it such a great resource.

Just wanted to post pictures of my 2 month old 2012 Rubicon and my first round of mods.

I know I'll catch some heat for it being too clean but I just can't help it haha.

Some of the stuff I've done so far:
- JW Speaker Headlights and Foglights
- Powdercoated stock wheels
- Ace Rock Rails
- Mygig lockpick
- Tailgate MPAC Rack

Lights are made by JW Speaker and are LED. The cheapest place to get them is from this shop (based off a little research and forum recommendations)

High Country Performance 4x4 Denver, Colorado Parts and Maintenance for 4x4 Vehicles

I just called them and they shipped em right out to me in CA

and yeah... the headlights and fog lights cost a small fortune, but I'm a lighting nut so to me it was worth it, they really do put out a ton of light and visibility is much improved compared to stock, plus they look unique and pretty sweet... the install wasn't too simple for either one, spent quite a bit of time on them

love the lights. how much time is quite a bit of time? how was the install over all? the site seems to imply its an easy plug and play. too bad that's usually not the case with anything electrical.

I am curious to know what the light pattern for those headlights is like? Narrow or wide spill? Lumens are given on the specs but that measurement is worthless without candlepower, distance, etc. How do they compare to stock? Is the light all in a patch right in front of the vehicle or do they reach out a ways? Can you drive 65 on a dark road and dodge an obstacle in time? Etc.

Would you mind telling us how much you paid for them? I'm looking at them as an option also.

well the headlights are plug and play with an adapter or anti-flicker harness from rallylights.com as far as the electrical end goes, the problem is mounting them up... on 2011 or earlier you need to grind out the headlight bucket area a bit so the they fit, on a 2012 they changed a few things making that no longer possible w/out modifying the airbag sensor, so to avoid modifying the sensor, you need to get an extra headlight ring and add it in as a "spacer" essentially, its about 6 hrs of work to get it all right but its nice since you don't modify a thing on the car

its definitely very wide and very far reaching, not even comparable to stock, the road is completely lit up on a pitch black night, you can definitely dodge an obstacle. I know there are some threads out there with actual numbers and light patterns but just from simple observation having been right next to my buddy's stock JK, these are a night and day difference on how well you can see plus they're legal as opposed to adding HIDS so you won't be blinding anyone or anything like that

the fogs are more of a pain than the headlights in my opinion, you have to drill out a good amount of the plastic within the inside of the bumper to get these to fit nice and flush, I ended up using the stock headlight brackets to hold these down, worked pretty nicely, you do have to figure out a plug or cut off your stock plugs and just hardwire these though

headlights were about $800 for the pair and fogs about $400 for the pair if I remember correctly, its definitely not cheap

the blue light is the mopar vehicle tracking system from the dealer, I guess thats where they decided to put it

and the fire extinguisher is actually just the white automotive one from home depot and I had a mopar sticker laying around that I put on it, looks pretty sweet and matches the jeep

Congrats on the beautiful Jeep. I love the 2011/2012 in the new white. I love the JW Speaker lights too. Have the fog light brackets been released?
