New 2012 Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon

Hello,
This is my first post here. I've been lurking here for months educating myself about all things Wrangler. I want to thank everyone who posts here. There has been some very good information posted on this forum. I've only had my new toy for a week, but I am in Love with it!!! I live on a farm with some steep banks, so I've been getting to know Rubi and 4lo locker procedures. I had my two daughters and two sisters screaming when we were climbing a bank and all we could see out of the windshield was blue sky with Pink Floyd playing from the hard drive... Life is good!!!!!

First question: I have factory rock rails and am concerned that all of the gravel roads we travel will chip a lot of paint from doors and hinges. Can I put running boards on in conjunction with my rock rails? Or is there any other way to protect painted metal from rocks? I also have been thinking about spraying some painted exposed metal under the "somewhat marginal" fender liners with some of that "Rhino Coating" in a can. What are some of your thoughts.
Thanks.

I had dealer take off rock rails and put on Sahara side steps. Keeps side of jeep from being hit by rocks and other cars doors from damaging your side. If you are going rock crawing, you can take them off and put rock rails back on.

Nice rig man. Love the color. If you are worried about rocks flying up I would definitely remove the rock rails and put on Sahara side steps. If you don't plan on using the rock rails I would sell them to make up the cost difference.
