Not a fan of the large scoop. It looks like the fake one that can be optioned on to the Mustang GT. I do like the "side vents."

RK Sport's been making things for F-Bodies for a long time and I really like those products.

As for getting water into the intake, not going to happen. Very well designed product, and even better to look at. It will be on their updated website shortly, or you can give them a call.
You posted yourself saying the hood forces air into the intake , so how is water not supposed to get into the intake if air can

Does The hood have a special no water allowed vent on it or something

I guess this means it has a no water allowed vent or the scoop does not work like you described

From the pictures from under the hood the vent is right in the middle so it would work more for cooling then letting air to the intake

And if you are going to pimp stuff for your friends company then by all means this is not my website

Looks great. I'm a big CF fan when it actually saves weight, how much lighter is this than the stock hood?

BTW, I don't mean to knock the purchase, but I doubt any air is getting forced into the intake. Aerodynamics dictate otherwise.

Looks great on your rig, thanks for sharing this with us. I would be interested in hearing about weight comparisons with stock if they have that info. Since my jkur is Billet, not sure how the black cf would look. Would definitely look good with a painted glass version though.

I don't think Jaker is really upset (could be wrong) but vendors have to pay on be on here.... That's what makes WF free for the rest of us yahoos! It wouldn't be fair if a vendor came on here disguised as just somebody that found the product. Not saying that's what's going on....

Also, I really want to know the same thing. If air is forced in via scoop directly into the airbox, how does it prevent water from coming in? Just saying "not going to happen" isn't really confidence inspiring

Probably in a similar fashion as a Shaker scoop. It's not a new concept...

Didn't know what a shaker scoop was so I wikied it. OH those things. Got it

I learned from reading the wiki article that nothing prevents rain from entering on those style intakes, but since engines go through so much volume of air the rain doesn't affect the engine. Seems plausible, maybe a small amount of water spray in the engine doesn't affect anything?

So wtf is wrong with pimping products for your friends? Countless products mentioned on Wrangler Forum do not come from sponsoring vendors. I'm having a friend who owns a custom metalworking shop make a hinged floor for my JKUR that will replace the back seat and provide storage underneath. I certainly plan to post photos of that on here when it is finished in a month or so. Personally, I enjoyed the hood post. If they made one in silver wire carbon fiber, I might consider it.

I'm old,old school, (like 67 years old). But that hood really sparks my interest especially for me out here in the Summer, desert heat.

I'm not sure of the exact weight difference, but I could feel it was much lighter than stock.

The air that flows through the scoop and ends up right above the air intake. I think Volant has a cold air intake that works specifically with this hood which would make it a true forced intake. But as I have it set up, my jeep seems more responsive. Less heat in the compartment, and cooler air flowing over the air intake cant hurt.

If you want more specifics, you will have to call RK Sport.

This new pimping project sounds awesome. Can't wait!

Awesome, because if your friends act anything like what you displayed in your post (for no apparent or justified reason...), we wouldn't want you "pimping" this website to them.

Shhhhhh...

I'm also glad he posted it, even though it's not the product for me.

- Have you ever mentioned your mods on this forum?

- Have you ever posted photos of your mods?

- Have you ever mentioned whether you like/dislike a product you've purchased?

- Have you ever recommended or suggested a mod to someone based upon your experiences with them?

If you can answer "YES" to ANY of the above questions, you've advertised products without being a vendor or paying to advertise products so us "yahoos" get free access to the forum.

Before this turns into a brawl, which, let me make clear, is not the intention, but an attempt to shine light on this subject. I can PERSONALLY answer "YES" to ALL of those questions, and I'm going to bet 100% of the rest of the people on this forum who have purchased modifications have as well.

I posted this product because it's a very nice mod, it may not be for everyone, but it will be for someone. Sharing cool parts and mods is what this forum is all about. After all, We are all Jeep enthusiast here. RK Sport doesn't need my "Pimping" they have been making great products for a long time.

I think the hood is badass! I would like details on their solution to prevent hydro-lock... Or at least test data showing it will not happen.

Either way, thank you for sharing, JKRONNIE!

Seriously, The only way I see hydro lock happening would be by driving my jeep under water. I don't have a after market air intake, so with the current set up, just feeding cold air over the air intake shouldn't be a problem. Also, the stock air intake is vertical, facing away from the outlet on the hood. I'm comfortable with the set up as is.

Thanks for your post, I appreciated it. RK Sport does great work, If silver wire carbon fiber exists, they can build it for you! That would look amazing!

If he brought it this would be different but he didn't so let's see how this goes

Hey ronnie if I give you a hood for free can you go on the sites and post all about so we can make some sells

But like I said before this is not my site and he can do whatever he wants or back door sales for his friends if he wants to

I would be happier if he brought it because he would actully know more about it instead of just keep referring to the site

OK this is NOT FAIR. This guy is not a vendor!!!!! He is probably a brother of a woman whose father's uncle used to work for this guy named Tony. Tony's ex-wife worked down the street from this Jeep dude that knew a girl whose brother makes these hoods!!!

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH

He's big pimpin!!!!!

All I know is he has the best looking hood on the planet and more power to him if he got it free. My geus is if he got it free he probably provided his stock hood as a mold or something.

I really can't say much to you since you are not getting it , but that is not what the issue is

The guy is posting about this hood that he knows nothing about at all , his best answer is go to the site
