you might and I might, but just because people are posting on this site does not mean they are gear heads. I am more in to building harleys then jeeps and you out to see the people who spend 1000's of $$$ on engine work and know not one iota about what they did only that it works. Great thing about this country tho is we can all see things differently.

Very true , I will leave him be for now

To the OP learn what you have on your jeep call your friend and ask him question about the hood so you can learn

Awesome hood man thanks for posting... As for it getting water in the intake. Like someone posted earlier I can't see it being worse then a shaker style intake. The engines not going to have an issue with that kinda minimal rainwater, it's no worse then starting an engine on a humid day.

Wow.... This thread got sh*% all over! I was only saying that vendors need to pay, however, if he's not a vendor then by all means share with us. Anyone who's read my stuff on Welcome Dist. handles would know I've done it (good and bad). However, even if he is a vendor (I don't think he is) I really don't care that much to see this thread spin out of control lol

I'm glad he posted. I've never seen this hood and I like the style.

Definitely thanks for posting up. It's a good thing to have more options for hoods. It's looks very cool in your rig, takes a little getting used to but is growing in me.

I dig your words of wisdom!

Could you take a photo or few photos from a little further away if you get a chance? It would be nice to see it from that vantage point. Thanks in advance for that too!

Called RK and they said no water will get to the filter (I asked specifically based on my open air filter). There are drain holes at the back of the intake to redirect water there (down into engine bay) instead of over to the filter location drop area. I have not seem the hood myself but this is what I found out and am passing it on to you guys in case that answers some questions that have come up.

I'd like to thank the op for this post. I've been looking for a good option to cool the 3.6 "tickastar" motor. I like the Poison Spider louvres, but I've always wanted something more. This is a great option. True it is more expensive, but it does look better IMO. This will go on my to do list.

So either he works for them and pimping their products without being a vendor or he is friends with them pimping their product for them

Either way all I see is a big hole in the hood to get water into the intake quicker

But I live right down the street from them so I will be going by the shop to check them out now
I'm with Jaker on this. Give me $500 and i'll put some holes in your hood. The Original Poster is clearly pimping a product. The hood looks good but the mall is the other way

Love the hood, however no poster mentioned that Jeeps are "Not" aerodynamic! Very little air flows over the hood. Most air is disturbed by the front of the shoe box. Forced air from above the windshield would be nice but who's gonna put a scoop there?... If you like the hood buy it for looks and maybe to cut down a few pounds if your winched up. Don't buy it for functionality. Jmho

Just ordered mine today. After the 3" lift kit, 35" Nittos, Fuel Rims, Bull bar, the jeep is hardly recognizable. NOW I GOT THE HOOD!!! I settled for the fiberglass one, I figured it was the cheaper option and everybit as strong as the flimsy metal jeep hoods from the factory. My original has already been hail fixed twice, never again though! Total cost was $845 to my door! Takes 5 days to make (or so) and then about 5 days to get. Will post pics soon!

Oh, forgot to mention that when I called RK they mentioned more info will be in an up and coming edition of Peterson's 4 Wheel and Offroad magazine's article featuring their new hood.

Congrats! You will dig it. I was at ORW to pick up a few things, came out and there were a bunch of jeepers loving it. A few of them are ordering this week. Enjoy it... It's sweet!

I'm not sure I agree with that, Air doesn't necessarily need to travel along a surface to end up anywhere. If it did, then air would never enter the cabin when we crack a side window. I'm a pilot, so I know a little bit about aerodynamics. I can tell you this, when an air molecule hits a leading edge, it is then split into two, and the velocity of the molecule is then increased and sent in the direction of the surface that split it. Check out slow motion wind tunnel footage,, very cool!

I have hood envy no doubt about it. I for the first time am regretting getting white not black and up until seeing that hood would never have bought another black vehicle (other then motorcycles) in a million years.

It's crazy how that happens. It just seems like there are always one or two people that have to bring negativity to a post.

Funny thing is, I always wanted a white jeep. Then I saw a black jeep built and I had to have black. Did you see the Sema Volant jeep with my hood? It's a dune color hood, but they left the scoop carbon fiber.. looks really good. I met a guy at ORW the other day, he has a white jeep, he's going to order his that way.

^^ This.

Man, I'd convinced myself, the way peeps do, that an aftermarket hood was superfluous, an unnecessary extravagance, eye candy, Jeep blasphemy!

However, seeing JKRONNIE's rig makes me change my mind. Hot!

Never mind the naysayers...

Checking my wallet as we speak...though I'm still torn btw the AEV and the Truck Master cold air induction hood, and now this new RK deal. Why do Jeep mods have to be so difficult?

On an unrelated note...do those trees have coconuts or pineapples in em – something with survival value – or are they purely decorative?
