New feature appeared.

I put in the Daystar dashtop organizer the other day and noticed my compass was stuck on S. I read the directions for calibrating it and got a pleasant surpise. I know for a fact that I did not have the computer MPG function, now all of a sudden I have it!

The only thing I can think of is that the dealer had to flash my PCM when they added Uconnect recently and they must have activated it then.

Hold the left dash button in for 10 seconds until "var" appears. (that sets the variance) Then hold it in for 10 seconds until "cal" appears above the "S". Drive slowly in a circle and it will reset.

I'm pretty sure that the compass-temp/MPG has been standard since 07. If the Jeep had one of em, it also had the other.

Why does this sound like one of those bar bets to me?
Like Tom has a bet with Hilldweller or someone to see how many of us he can get to slowly drive around in circles.

Nope, it's legit. That's how you had to set the compass on my old F-150. I miss it.

Funny, but it's true.

Personally speaking, however, I have done my share of circles before.....even when I thought I was going straight.

you miss driving in circles to set the compass on your F-150? was this a regular thing? i have always wondered why people with F-150's were driving in circles on parking lots... i thought something else was up

I find many of the option to reset or turn off/on are a little funny. I think that whoever comes up with these has a very good sense of humor

I think I may have re-installed my compass thingy wrong. I re-set it twice to be sure. Either I out it in upside down or the earth's magnetic poles have switched.

I was hoping I didn't screw mine up, once I got it apart I forgot which way it was on the old dash panel haha. Anyway mine was fine, didn't even have to recalibrate it.

I'm pretty sure we've established that the magnetic poles of the earth have changed.

Wait, so do I have this feature too or did Tom just Forrest Gump his way into it?

Maybe I'll by one of those Daystar dashtop organizers and I'll find a new pentastar under my hoodd

I definitely did not have it before. I checked when I first heard of people having it. The only thing that happened when I pushed the button was that it changed from Fahrenheit to Celsius. Now in order to make that change I have to hold the button in.
