It's called Hurricane Creek, and it's on 40, heading towards South Carolina/Tennessee. It's just a dirt turn off, just past a guard rail between exits 8 and 9, I think it was.
There are a couple of small water crossings and lots of edges with sheer drop offs, but we've run it several times without issue.
Check out the local North Carolina forum here. There are a couple of threads about it. There's also another guy here on the forum, 4DoorCrush who we ran the trail with. He seems like he's always up for some wheeling. Maybe send him a PM.
I'm on the other end of the state, but I grew up in Lexington.
