New Jeep?

After a motorcycle wreck, broken clavicle with new "chrome", and an ear full from the wife(not to mention the doc saying no more hits to the shoulder), I'm going to be getting rid of the bike and getting another jeep. The last jeep I had was a 2003 TJ X,...I know, I know....should have never gotten rid of it. But that's the past, now for the future.
Been looking at new and used prices, and I have to admit...Jeeps hold their value pretty good. Now I'm trying to be patient, but I rode in a friend's recently purchased 1984 CJ7 with a 350 chevy in it......brought back alot of memories of driving one when I was a kid/teen, and my fever went up too!
I commute to work, 450 miles a week, so MPG is a concern. But I like the looks of 33's with a 2.5 to 3" lift.(Was on my last jeep).
I'm thinking I need to get 3.73 gears, but I'm wondering what the MPG is on stock tires and say, 32" to 33" tires?
Also, I had the standard in my last jeep. What is the new 5 speed auto like? Trying to get some "real" reviews from real jeep owners. I kinda like the sound of the new motor in the '12's and '13's, but don't know much about them. I know the 4.0 was a good motor, but have no info on the new ones.
Thanks for any input....

New motors are great, the new 3.6 is night and day difference from the 3.8 in 07-11s. It's basically like driving a different car (in a good way) other than that, the new auto is great comes standard with the steptronic system (auto-manual shift) and haven't heard many problems on that. Stock sport s tires are I believe either 29s or 32s not 100% sure but leaning 32 at 255-55-17. Other than that they are great rides mpg, not so much. Mine is stock no lift no tires and I get around 16 average prob 50-50 highway city

I have a 2012 with the 3.6 and I was averaging 20 MPG with 70/30 Highway over city driving with the stock tires which equate out to 32's. I am not quite sure what I am getting now that I have put on 35's with a 3.5 inch lift kit as I have not gotten the procal tool to readjust my speedo.

The new Motor is putting out 285 HP with 260 ft lbs of torque. It is a big improvement over the 3.8 that was in the 2007-2011.
