I understand but if I'm not mistaken, you ordered a Dozer right? I just ordered a plain black Rubicon and a White Sahara. Both very common colors, to my knowledge.

It took me a month to get my VIN number and then only because I called the dealer and asked for it.

And the color doesn't make that big a difference it's all just paint that's stocked.

I'd call your dealer and ask for the VIN, don't wait for them to call you.

I had the VIN in 4 days. But, I believe it depends a lot on what your order is. I understand they build in segments; that is, a group of Wranglers, then maybe Saharas, etc. I was told I just hit it right and they were building Saharas when my order hit the factory and it slid right in. I guess patience is the virtue, but it sure is hard.

Called Jeep Customer Service and they said its in transit but couldnt give me eta. Said anytime from now to up to 30 days. Originally they told me eta 12/20 with ship date of today, so far everything was right, now there vauge?

Edit: I called back to see where it was being shipped from and its Toledo and they said eta of 12/30. So between 12/20 and 12/30 hopefully it should be here.

Just go the confirmation email that mine is being shipped. The wait was excruciating. I ordered it November 9, white Sahara matching hardtop. I'm ordering the soft top soon so I can have it ready for spring/summer/fall

Just got a call from the dealership, it is in CA as of today ready for the truck ride over, but it won't be delivered on 12/21 as initially thought. Instead, I have to wait until 12/27 for delivery. It's so close to delivery date, I couldn't care less!!!
The wait has been long, but I bet it will be worth it in the end!

So for those who have gone through this wait process and gotten email from Jeep, how long did it seem to take between the first email with them saying they (Jeep) received your order to the second email where they are supposed to give you a tracking number to track your build (I am guessing they mean the VIN.)

TIA

Just picked up my new 2012 Wrangler unlimited Sahara, looking to put new rims and tires on my 2012 Wrangler, It is all for show, I really don’t go off road, sorry but its the truth, can anyone tell me what size to go with , and tires that you can recommend, look good but are not noisy, I don’t want to lift it, just keep it stock, it currently has factory 18" rims.
Thanks guys

You are better off starting a new thread on this. You will get a better response. There are several threads on tires an wheels if you do a search. that will give you some ideas.

I got an email from my sales guy that both of my jeeps are built. My wife's Sahara has already been shipped and my Rubicon is waiting to put on the rails for shipping. Any idea how long shipping could take from Toledo to Long Island NY? When I called Jeep they said that both Jeeps were tagged with estimated deliveries of Jan. 1.

I only got one Jeep email when mine was shipped but I did get my vin from the dealer one week after I ordered which I used in VOTS to track progress

The dealership has a VON (vehicle order number) as soon as they place the order. They can actually place the order while you are still at the dealership and give it to you then. VIN may take a week or two. Don't call customer services they are clueless and about a week behind on info. I called customer services to get the VIN a couple of weeks after ordering and they told me they didn't have one yet. I called the dealer right after and they had the VIN already. Once it was shipped I got an email from Jeep with an expected delivery date in January. The dealership emailed me with a date 5 days earlier than Jeep had told me. About a week later I get another email from Jeep with the date the dealer told me. Clueless.

There is no rhyme or reason to any of it. I ordered my JK sport on 11/8 and it probably won't be here until after the first of the year. Others have gotten their Jeeps in less than a month. Just depends if your order is the same as the batch they are currently building. Once it is shipped you really can't find specific info just an estimated delivery date. They basically can not track it during shipping. How UPS and FEDEX can track thousands of packages every day and Chrysler can't track something as big as a Jeep is still a mystery.

Picked up my 2012 jku Rubicon 11/28. Dealership CAN track the movement during shipping...as well as the entire order/build process. I was able to follow it on "insight" before it was shut down around 11/20. The newer site used by the dealership is "dealerdirect" and it is ID and Password protected so only the dealerships can use it. I was able to see the same page on 'insight' that my dealer was seeing on his 'dealerdirect' until insight was turned off. Your dealer CAN tell you exactly where the train is.

Just called up Jeep customer service. My Jeep had an estimated ship date of the 19th. She told me that as of today (21st) it has been released to be shipped apparently. She said it can take anywhere from 1 week up to a month for it to get to the dealership now.

Wish I could just fly out to Toledo, OH and drive it home myself. It'd be so much easier. I've done that drive in 10 hours before so it's really no biggie...

I originally ordered my BFG JKUR on October 4rth and I just took delivery of it on December 13th. Third time Jeep'r so while the wait was killing me, I knew what to look forward to. All in all, the folks in this forum helped me through the wait. Good luck to the rest of you and I hope you love your Jeep as much as I love mine!

Ugh the wait is really bad for me now. At least back in November I had put my order in and just knew it was going to start getting built sometime after the 1st of Dec. Called the dealer on Thursday and it started getting built on the 21st last Wednesday and I know it takes 5-7 days to build. So now I know it's coming soon and that makes it even worse lol.

My stealership is killing me. They said an initial delivery date of late November, then early december, then 12-21, then 12-27 last week.....now it might be into January. It has been waiting for the delivery truck for nearly 2 weeks, the salesman says nobody is driving the trucks the week of Christmas. Damn...

Got an email from the dealer saying that it looks like it will be delivered on 1/4. What is funny is that I called up the Jeep hotline earlier and was told that it might be there at the end of the week....

The wait is torture.

I finally just got my JKU Rubicon after waiting since the beginning of November. It was very much worth the wait, but the anticipation and stress was almost unbearable! The people at Jeep are informative when you call most of the time, but sometimes vague and sometimes incorrect. The VOTS tracking system updates pretty well, but sometimes doesn't change as quickly as it could. Overall, just don't let it get the best of you and when your Jeep gets here, you will forget all of the stress!

Although I'm waiting patiently for my JKUR to be built for the last month (ordered on 11/29), it is almost comical at the responses you get from Jeep. Each time I call I get a different story, which is better than the no response from the dealer. Today I called and they told me my Jeep is scheduled for delivery today although it is not built yet :o)

The wait to get a VIN (or confirmation that they have an order) is killing me! I ordered my Rubicon JK on 12/12 and got my VON, but after calling JEEP customer service today, still do not have a VIN (or anything else). I love hearing that they don't have anything in their system, but having a VON is a good thing (really, what does a VON do if JEEP can't even tell me they have a record of my order)...

Got a call today from the dealer who apologized that I wont be getting my Jeep tomorrow, 12/30. He said he's been tracking it and its in Maryland and I should have it by Wed. He said he's at the mercy of the truck driver. What makes me frustrated is I called I-AM-Jeep and they told me they have it sold to me on 12/16 and I have it already. And everytime I called Jeep I got a different eta date. WTF Jeep? Oh well, here's to a late xmas gift/new years present.

From what I was told by both Jeep Customer Service and the dealer themselves, the Jeeps are shipped to a "disbursement" facility, a regional centralized location for several dealerships. From there, a transport truck is hired by several dealers to make several deliveries. As a result, the Jeep may sit in the disbursement facility for days, if not weeks, waiting for other dealers to get several orders together. Finally its then put on the trucker's schedule. Throw the holidays into the mix and between holiday black out days (This Fri., Sat., and Mon.) for the truckers themselves and the service departments that accept and prep the Jeeps. Deliveries won't happen until mid next week, if your lucky.

One other thing, this is across the board. My brother bought a 2011 Ford Explorer last night that is on the dealers lot but he won't be able to take delivery until Tue. because the service department is closed.

Ack, so I called for an update today because VOTS is still showing my Jeep as "scheduled" even though the guy I talked to on the 22nd said "oh they started building it yesterday". Well, I should have know better when the guy said he wasn't that familiar with the system.

I called my sales guy today and he said it's still in D1, but he also says it's scheduled to ship on January 4th!! I thought they took longer to build than that but ok I'm not complaining. Still, sounds like I'm looking more toward the end of January minimum to get it and I was hoping for by the 13th for my birthday weekend.
