New Jeep Owner with Gas Mileage Question

Hey Guys I am a new Jeep owner and I have an 07 Wrangler with what I think is a 4 inch lift and 325/65/18 tires.....I seem to be getting about 10 to 12 MPG.....is that normal and if so is there anything I can do to improve? I had a Sliverado with a bit smaller tires and V8 and mileage was much better....Jeep has a V6.....any help is appreciated

Auto or manual trans?

Do you know your axle gear ratio?

I have an '08 JKUR with a 4" lift, manual, and I get similar MPG.

I'm far from knowledgeable on your setup, but I'd guess your so-so gas mileage is what you might expect with those huge, heavy tires! What you're gaining in floatation for mudding, or whatever, you're paying for in gas mileage.

Unless you have a Rubicon with 4.10 axles, or the PO re-geared, I'd think your engine would be struggling turning those big tires, hurting your gas mileage a little more.

I recall reading of others who have re-geared and found there gas mileage improved.
