New JK - 2 Questions - BB Lift & Exhaust Spacer

Hello,

I just purchased a new JK 4 door and have 2 questions.

1) I want to purchase a 2.5” budget lift next week but curious. I see there are 2” front spacers for sale to level the Jeep, but with all the coil spacer lifts, it appears the spacers are the same size at all 4 corners. Curious, wouldn’t the front spacers need to be thicker/taller to level the ride?

2) I see mentioned an exhaust spacer kit is needed. Why is this needed if not doing a body lift? 17606.76 Rugged Ridge Exhaust Spacer Kit - JK 2012 Wrangler with 2.5" Lift

Maybe newbie questions, but sincerely appreciate any comments.

Because the shocks will limit the down travel of the axle correct? So the drive shaft can't contact the exhaust if the axle can't extend as far.

But I believe if you use shock extensions which come with many budget boosts allowing you to use the factory shocks and allow more downtravel, he might want to look at exhaust spacers

The BB kits I have been looking at do not include coils, so I assume the tilt would be retained, although a member sent me a Tera Track kit that is 2 inches in front and 1 inch in back. Appreciate the info on the exhaust spacer. BTW, what are front bump stops?

I recently removed my budget boost in favor of a full system. My BB was made by Rough Country and the front spacers were 2.5" and rear were 2". It also had extensions for your stock shocks. I had no issues running the stock exhaust even flexed all out.

Some spacer kits are the same thickness front and rear because theya ren't designed to lift and level, just lift.

Learn to love the rake, embrace it, and be happy.

A body lift is just that, lifts the body. So it has no effect on the chassis.
