New jk owner!!!

Hi All-

I am the proud owner of a 2009 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Edition. I currently have a 1995 Jeep Wrangler RIo Grande that I am probably going to sell. It is in very nice original condition. Anyway, is there anything I need to know about my jeep or anything I need to look for, watch out for, replace immediately etc?

Thanks!

Congrats on the new to you JK. I am a new JK owner myself. I came from a 1996 ZJ to a 2011 JK just about four months ago.

Post up some pictures. I can't speak for everyone, but I like looking at everyones JKs. The more pictures the better.

Mike.

Congrats ... I was just there on Saturday (3-3). We're picking up the wife's 12 JKU this weekend (3-10). I'm hoping my JKR is delivered in early April. I'm doing my part to keep them in business.

Awesome! They really are great their. I got them to throw in a FREE 3 year, 60,000 mile Warranty since mine runs out in 180 miles. I still can't believe I didn't pay one dime for it!

Whenever I get a new vehicle EVERY fluid is changed out and I go through it with a magnifying glass. Check all suspension bolts, change the serpentine belt and throw the used one under the seat as a spare, check closely the unit bearings and ball joints in the front and u-joints on the axle shafts.

I generally start at the front bumper and move to the rear checking everything closely before I give it a clean bill of health.

That is just me though. I would at least replace all fluids/filters.

Mike.

Don't forget step no. 5!

Congrats and enjoy! Not sure if this is in your owner's manual, but it should be:

1. Have fun driving it.
2. Lurk in the forum.
3. Empty your wallet on extra goodies.
4. Have MORE fun driving it.
5. Repeat and enjoy!

Re the stock headlights, they're good, as long as you use them as daytime running lights. Because they really suck at being nighttime headlights! There are plenty of threads on improving them, though.

Don't forget step no. 5!

Nice deal! They're swapping the Rubicon rims for the 5-hole Mopar rims when my Jeep comes in. I do have to pay for new valve stems (tire pressure sensor), but that's a deal I'll take any time. They've got to be the best dealership I've ever purchased from.

I am right behind you. Mine should be here late next week. I am waiting for the call from the dealer when it arrives. Let the games begin!

I'm not 100% sure about the 09's but the 12's you can tell the difference by the finish on the wheel, either painted silver or painted satin carbon (Rubicon).

This is the pic from the Jeep website with the rims I want.
