New JK owner here, looking to talk about jeeps and meet people in my area.

I bought a 2014 Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon last week because I needed a bigger vehicle for my business. This is my first Jeep and I'm really looking forward to picking up a wrench and going offroad. This beast is pretty well suited for beginners trails already. That's all I'll be doing for awhile. I want to get to know the vehicle before I attempt anything remotely dangerous. I've never driven when wheeling before. I've gone with an old friend in his jeep a few times but never drove. Gotta start somewhere, right?

I'm not sure if I should post this in builds... I don't feel I should as I'm just asking about some add on parts. I'm very new to all this. Any advice will be well received.

I want to add a beefy compressor that can run air tools, not only for the jeep but to work on other vehicles/projects as well. Having a portable air tool station is great for work and almost any situation. I can wrench and have all the tools I need but will probably pay to have the switches put in and wires done. My electrical work is sloppy at best.

I like these two. I haven't shopped around much, I'm looking for advice and better options from more experienced people than me.

Quadratec® On Board Air System with Tank for 07-11 Jeep® Wrangler & Wrangler Unlimited JK - Quadratec

Viair 10009 - Viair X'treme Duty Onboard Air System - Quadratec

I'm also looking for a winch in the far future and have no clue where to begin.

I didn't take pictures yet. I'll post some tomorrow.

EDIT: I live NE of philly about 40 minutes and have already heard about http://www.rauschcreekoffroadpark.org/index.php I'm looking to plan a day there soon for beginers trails.

If you haven't already, you may want to post another message in the correct location based forum for your area. You'll find more locals easier.

Congratulations and have fun with your new jeep!

Sorry, we haven't tackled on board air for our jeeps yet. Hopefully someone will come along soon and help you out...

You might also try ANOTHER (LOL) post in the JK Tech section.

There are jeep clubs. Try Lancaster county Jeep club on Facebook.

Hope to see you at Rausch Creek someday.

I have a Viar under my hood and it works great. I don't think you want the big one you posted a link for, unless you plan on running air tools. I have the Heavy Duty one and it powers my lockers as well as air for my tires to air up on the trail.

You may want to check out our vendor section, they often have good deals for forum members (like Airwerkz for the on board air). What ever you decide on, make sure you shop around for the best deal.

I do plan on running air tools. The axle lock on my jeep are just a button push as well as the sway bar to lock/unlock. Also, thank you I'll go stalk the vendor section.

HELLO FROM PHILLY! Check out the forum here: philly we're always planning some trail rides and there are plenty of us around for a day trip if you throw something out there.

P.S. I'm the big Dozer Sahara on 35"s. If you're anywhere around Manayunk, you've probably seen me!
