if you find a Sahara you like for 15% below MSRP....BUY IT !!!!! and RUN ! ! !.. if it doesn't have the Dual top RUN to a shop and order a Bestop TWILL top..its the same as the OE Premium top..

I bought my OEM soft top (with hardware) on Craigslist for $375. Just put it on today.

Can I ask, which ORH top did you get and what didn't you like about it? I was interested in one myself.

Newb question, trying to justify the HUGE $$ on the dual top and cut a corner if I can...If I understand all the posts here, the factory softtop's main sell is that it goes down & comes with you while some aftermarket tops don't? Does the Bestop twill top qualify as a take with you top?

Does Bestop manufacture the factory original (OEM) soft tops for Jeep® Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited?
Yes. Bestop has been the factory original supplier to DaimlerChrysler for Jeep® soft tops since 1986. Bestop has also been the factory supplier of soft tops and accessories for Suzuki, Isuzu, GM, Toyota and many other small SUVs. Additionally, we've also been serving the Toyota truck market and Toyota accessories market for Land Cruiser for over 30 years. At Bestop, we proudly utilize the finest materials and adhere to the factory original specifications for fit, function, style and craftsmanship – so you know you’re getting the best there is.
-------

The one thing I have not checked to see is if the Supertop NX's come with spring assist like the OEM tops.

Sorry if this question has been asked before but I've never had dual tops before. I just got a JKU a couple weeks ago. The hardtop was on and the softtop was in the back in the way. I have the hardtop off for the summer but when I go to put the hardtop back on can I remove the softtop completely? It's in the way and will make the rear storage useless to anything more than 12" tall.

Yes, you are actually supposed to remove the softop from under the hardtop when you first get the Jeep. It is only kept there for shipping. When youput the hardtop back on, you will remove the entire soft top.

So where does it disconnect? Right at the bracket on the rollbar? Sorry if this is in the manual I only flipped through it real quick.

4 bolts hold it to the rollbar, but you can buy quick releases from Quadratech I think.

The dual top option at time of order is the route I took. Love the 2013 Premium softtop. Had a 2012 and ordered Bestop Supertop NX and had to put the dam thing together screws and all WAPITA!!!!
2013 ST came completely put together, removed 4 bracket bolts and ST folded, pick up and store on storage cart.
Have Hoist for hardtop in garage, put back on ST myself in 10 minutes.
The spring assist is fantastic!!!
TIP: Stand in your back seat to raise your ST not on the side. Don't need a helper!!

This is what did until I got the spiderwebshade! Thanks to the spring assist, standing on the side to raise/lower the top is not a problem!

Before my 2013 JKU I had a spiderweb full shade and could not stand in the back seat to raise ST.
Now with the Premuim ST with spring assist and Spiderwebshade stay installed all the time with ST and Hardtop.

This is my number one most important reason for the PST and the Spiderwebshade is a must.

So I finally got around to getting the quick release bow knuckles and I'm not sure they are going to work. The lower end looks just like the directions but the upper end doesn't. Has anyone put these on a 2013 4 door?

So heres my .02 (BTW: I am still waiting for my JKUR to arrive)

When I bought my TJ....I went with the dual top option and learned 2 lessons.

1) Actually sit down and read the manual concerning the soft top. There is lots of good info on installing it properly and using it effectively....nuf said.

2) I found that I never used the soft top. In april I would put on my Bestop bikini and Duster and never put up the soft top. When it rained, I kept moving forward and hardly any water came in. When it was parked, I threw up my trail cover and had no worries. In late October....the hard top went on for the winter.

The only time I used the soft top was when I traveled (flat-towing). I owned the TJ for 10 years and the soft top was like new when I sold it....almost ZERO use.

Needless to say....I ordered my JKUR with a hardtop only.

They won't fit the 2013 and newer 4 door because of the spring assist mechanism. No option for quick disconnects for it because of that.

Oredered hardtop only for the JKUR, added Gearshade and was going to get a sotftop but after 8 months running most of it without the hardtop-doubt if we'll get a softtop.

We also have a 04 TJR with softop that we never use. We've got a Bikini and Duster that's all we use.

Thanks for answering my question.

They should stop saying they fit.
