Smile New kid on the block

Hello guys,
I am a newly forum member, however i have been floating around for some quite time just reading threads and sussing the forum out.
Let me introduce myself and then ill introduce my "ride". My name is Michael and I'm from Melbourne, Australia, and no.... I do ride a "kangaroo" to work
I'm from Portuguese descendant and i used to be a huge BMW nut. I mean HUGE! Nothing was good beside a BMW. That was until i purchased myself a 2002 e39 5 series and it was a massive mistake. Never again! Now i am a Jeep nut. I initial bought a 2011 Jeep Cherokee (liberty in the states) brand new off the showroom floor however it sucked off road and it was a massive juice guzzler!!!
I sold it and lost alot of money and bought myself a 2012 Jeep wrangler JKU in diesel.
Best car i have ever owned!

G'day from down under!!!

-Michael (castrejo)

Here are some photo's of my jeep.
Its got a mopar style front bar (winch setup) and i plastidiped the front grill. Ive also added a fire extinguisher and first aid kit in the rear on the roll cage. Other than that my jeep is pretty much stock.
Hopefully getting some nice spotlight soon and a 2 1/2 inch lift kit. slowly slowly

Welcome to the forum!

It's great to see us Americans aren't the only ones that get to enjoy and be fanatical about our Jeeps.

How's the diesel engine? Are you glad you chose it over gas?

The diesel is fantastic! I wouldn't have bought it if it wasn't. My Cherokee was unleaded and it was killing me in fuel. The diesel has a tonne of torque. The only thing i don't like is the fact that its mated to a 6 speed manual and it requires alot of down shifting. Other than that its spectacular!
Its a shame they do not offer it to you guys in the states. They should.
I can get 8.0L per 100km, or about 800-900km per tank
