New Savegres are here!!! Is there a TPMS in the spare tire???

Guys,(AND gals) My new silver AEV s Just literally showed up an hour ago. Cant wait to see the tires on them.

I bought 5 tires and wheels and I want to match the set up that is on the Jeep now.(I am leaving the stock tires and wheels in tact.I am not breaking them down to get the TPMS units out of them.buying new ones.)Is there a TPMS in the factory spare tire????(2012 JK 2 door) I have had Chrysler dealers and service techs tell me both ways!! Some say "yes",others say "no". Even some tire places are telling me differently.

All of the valve stems are matching the one on the spare.(Someone told me that was a "tell tale" sign it was in the spare?? IDK???)

Yes.

Your TPMS system only tracks the four that are spinning, but there's definitely one in the spare. Once you rotate in the spare and start driving, the TPMS system will recalibrate in short order to start reading what was the spare and ignoring whatever sensor you moved to the spare location (which would no longer be spinning).

This is explained in pretty good detail in the full length version of your owners manual, which you can download online. You might want to show it to that tech who told you there wasn't a TPMS in the spare.
