Hello all,

New member here :happyyes:

Will be flying from Ohio to Texas next Friday to take possession of what I believe could be the last new tank green 2dr on the market. This one is nicely equipped with 3.73 / anti-spin, power, connectivity and in-dash nav. Have looked at the 2016/2017's but could not get past just how much I love this color!

:awesome:

Congratulations and :welcome: to the forum.

I agree, I love the color! I too found in Texas a new-to-me 2015 Tank with 5,500 miles.

Here she is in her new home in California

This will be some road trip from TX to Columbus to get her home (18 hrs). I have never owned a vehicle without a hood lock before so am a bit concerned parking overnight in hotels. Maybe I am overly paranoid but I will be packing with a bolt hood lock and rivet tool in my luggage.

First mod will be done in the dealer parking lot

FYI - there's very little worth stealing under the hood. LOL.

The only thing anyone may be able to take in a rush is the engine plastic cover.

I wouldn't worry if I were you,

Unfortunately I had to call off the deal. Very disappointing to me as I really love that jeep. In dash nav, 3.73, anti-spin, alpine, hard top, auto, connectivity; i think it had every option except side air bags.

I could tell the dealer was not being straight with me after they found out I was arranging my own financing. They kept saying the purchase agreement was sent to my lender but it would never go through. I was lied to outright by the salesperson who then admitted it had never been put together by the finance department 3 days before I am supposed to fly. When I finally did get the agreement today there was a surprise added cost of $1,000 for EVTS and almost $800 for "other". Even if they do modify the deal there is no trust anymore.

Bummed as I won't be bringing home my much desired tank green sport. I am also out $400 for a plane ticket already bought. Ouch.

Glad it worked out for you! My heart sank a bit when I read your post above about the deal falling through.

Enjoy your trip home, and the Jeep ownership experience! Time to start a build thread :D

I was able to complete the purchase no problem. Autonation in Katy Tx. picked me up at the airport took fantastic care of me. Out the door with only the agreed upon price of the jeep and Ohio taxes. No doc fees or any other miscellaneous charges. It was a long day and I still have two days of driving ahead of me but I will do it with a big smile on my face :iamhappy:

Here she is all clean and shiny on the dealer lot yesterday ready to drive home:

Drove 10 hours today made it almost to Nashville TN. I have about 7 hours of driving tomorrow left.

The jeep is a joy to drive. I had the freedom tops off this morning with the sun out, crisp morning air and the heat blasting inside. Have never driven in any vehicle "topless" before and was blown away by just how much fun it was (did not expect that; felt like a kid again). I had an involuntary grin on my face I could not wipe off. With the alpine radio jamming it was just plain awesome.

Can't wait to do it all over again tomorrow morning :)

...btw; you guys are the only people out there who don't think I am completely nuts for buying a car 1200 miles from home. My wife, kids, even people at work just don't get it.

"..so you couldn't find a Jeep you liked in the entire state of Ohio?"

Is all about the GREEN!!!! Love it!!
