New tires for 16" wheels on JKU

I'll say upfront that I'm looking for new tires for looks only. I rarely go off road so on road performance is more important. I'm looking for bigger tires to make the JKU look better. The stock tires are skinny and small (29") I need a tall sidewall correct? So would 265/76-16 be a good choice? I have stock 3.73 gears so cannot go too big in size. What brand for low noise?

Thanks all!

You can find a set of new take-off tires/wheels on Craigslist for $400-$600. If you have TPMS sensors in yours, make sure what you buy has them, or move the tires over.

If you don't want to hassle with CL, check out:

Then, after deciding on a few brands, go to their spec page
Goodyear Wrangler SilentArmor

and find your size and the size you want. I tossed up an example.

AT's are good all around performers, not as good looking as an M/T, but smoother and usually better mileage.

Your speedo will be off changing tire sizes, so you might want to get that adjusted.

Not too sure if they are low noise or not but Falken makes the Wild peak A/T's. I have heard great things about them on and off road. I'm pretty sure they also come with a 50,000 mile gaurantee. I should be ordering a set of 5 305/70/R16's this week.
