New to the forum, need advice on where to start

Fellow Jeep fans,

I need some advice on where to start as in fixing it up and making it your own and I'm not sure where to start...I just recently purchased a hoop/light bar that is mounted in front of the grille and soon will have auxiliary lights installed to it, but that is not going to complete the look I'm going for. In essence, I just want it to have that aggressive look and stance and I believe black powder coat accessories is a key factor but, there is so much and the prices make you do a double take. Any suggestions? Thank you for reading this and taking your time!

Ok will do, I have a couple from when I bought it, but haven't had time to install the pre-runner light bar yet.

I recommend reading magazines go to club events/shows read this forum. See what others are doing, and how to be the same, and how to be different to make the decisions that will ultimately be your own. Good luck and post up some before and after pics!

My best advice is that you should not go for a "look"; go for what works.
If, at that point, you're offered aesthetic options, pick ones to your liking. Choosing form over function can be fatal in worst-case scenarios.

Recovery gear is a good starting point and is universal.
Wheel with other JK owners and see what everyone has; watch for what's working and what isn't. Put away the credit card for a while and do some soul-searching and research.

If you're building a mall-crawler please disregard the preceding comments.

Start with the lift. Maybe some bigger tires and wheels.

Use it first, then you'll have a better idea of what you need.
