I've been lurking here quite a while learning about Jeeps and appreciate all the info. I posted the obligatory newb post in the new members forum, but will be here most the time, so I thought I'd introduce myself.
After prodding by my Jeepish sister who's most recent Jeep was an 04 Rubi, I picked up an 07 X manual. Basic Wrangler, but the first owner bought a ton of accessories and more importantly (I hope) the 7 yr/85k warranty that I transferred.
The first thing I did was put some new tires and wheels on it (17 X 9 American Eagles w/BFG KO's). I didn't want to lift it and stayed with a conservative set up.
First weekend we did the Apache Trail after breakfast at Tortilla Flat, and had a blast! More like dirt roading than offroading, but the scenery was awesome and we both fell in love with the experience.
Attached are a few pics from the trip the wife took, and the second one is after the trip when I figured out that with a Jeep, you don't drive around puddles - you head for them! She took the pic because I'd washed it the day before
Thanks to all for the info - this is a great site
